TONIGHT Antinous the Moon God is at right angles to the Sun. This is the SAGITTARIUS THIRD QUARTER MOON, which we call the SACRED STAR phase in Antinous Moon Magic.

Each lunar phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the SACRED STAR lunar phase is the embodiment of clarity and insight.

In the midst of confusion and chaos, the Spirit of the Star touches the top of your head and conveys sudden and total clarity. This Spirit is never deceived by appearances.

It always sees clearly. It sees through every facade. It sees behind all barriers. It sees through the blackest darkness. It shines as a beacon, lighting the way ahead.

The Star of Antinous was named shortly after the death of Antinous, perhaps in the year 131, when the Nile flooded over the embankments and a new star appeared in the sky to announce the deification of the new god. 

Hadrian's Astrologers noticed the new star which appeared suddenly within the constellation now known as Aquila, the Eagle.

A new constellation was drawn within Aquila that was named Antinous, and officially recognized by Astronomers and Astrologers all around the world, as recently as the last century.

The Sagittarius Third Quarter Moon is concerned with getting clear on idealistic matters.

This week, which started off so optimistically, takes a sharp turn down a spooky, dark alley at mid-week when aggressive Mars aligns with impulsive Uranus and both are in a tight, 90-degree square angle to death planet Pluto. This is the textbook recipe for armed conflict, terrorist attacks and economic collapse. On the one hand, there is a powerful yearning for a dramatic new beginning. That is a good thing, in general. But on the other hand, there are ruthless people who take advantage of that yearning to push their own agendas for changing the world to fit their own selfish ends. Quite aside from global politics and economics, you will sense these tensions in your own domestic life and on the job. Remember to keep your head and strive for compromise while others lose their heads or ram their heads through the wall.

LABRADORITE FOR THE LION HUNT MOON By Our Crystal Meditation Advisor Martin Campbell

IF you are going to meditate using crystals at this Leo Full Moon, moon phase you can be assured that this practice has existed for thousands of years and is still influencing key spiritual teachers around the world now. 

I was surprised, recently, to have found some crystal advice that has come down to us from a 12th Century Christian Nun! 

Hildegard von Bingen was a nun worshipping Christ in part of what is now Germany. She composed the music and lyrics of beautiful hymns which have survived and are still used in convents today. 

In 1994 these were put against modern mood music by Angel Music (Vision The Music of Hildegard Von Bingen) to create a magical, ethereal sound. 

As an example of her crystal advice she advised the following for diamonds:

"...if a man is fanatical and choleric, he should keep this stone always in his mouth and by the power of this stone the evils will be turned away."

In modern day Brazil there is a spiritual teacher, guide and healer called John of God (João de Deus).

He is a follower of Christ but also recognises the power of crystals from surprising personal experience:

"Having been a gem miner, I have learned that in order for a precious stone to show its full beauty, it must first suffer tghe process of refinement, likewise, each child [person], a rare diamond of creation, must be polished in order to realise their full superior destination".

Knowing that I have such powerful voices speaking with me I am proud to offer the following crytsal meditation advice for this moon phase.

The Leo Full Moon is interpreted as the Lion Hunt Moon in the Antinous cycle of the year. The key focus of this period is the determination and courage to handle daunting situations along our physical and spiritual journey. To deal assertively with fear. 

I would recommend that you meditate using the following crystals:

LABRADORITE - These wonderful, irridescent stones (pictured at top of this blog entry) are a particular favourite of mine. Apart from being utterly beautiful they remove fear from this life and past lives. They also help you live your life with creative purpose and strong imagination.

JASPER - There are many different colours of Jasper all of which have differing strengths. Overall though the family of Jasper stones aid self realisation and imparts the determination to do anything you desire. It helps to calm your nerves. Jasper also brings you the courage to deal with problems assertively.

THE LEO FULL MOON THE LION HUNT MOON OF ANTINOUS

TONIGHT you get an ego-boost and are ready for your chance to go for the gold — overnight Saturday/Sunday we come to the lunar phase we call the LION HUNT MOON, the LEO FULL MOON.

It is a reminder that Antinous slew a man-eating lion in Egypt. Antinous peered out into the barren wilderness with all its deep and hidden dangers. He charged forth, his bridle-reins in one hand and an adamantine-tipped lance in the other, and he faced the beast unafraid. For Antinous knew he would triumph over death. The Spirit of the Lion Hunt is the bravery of Antinous the Lion Slayer.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Lion Hunt Moon is courage and bravery. It is exemplified by selfless devotion and dogged perseverance.

The image above shows Antinous and his steed attacking the man-eating Marousian lion in the Egyptian desert in the year 130 AD. The Sacred Lion Hunt was immortalized in poetry and in stone, showing Antinous brashly attacking the lion with his adamantine-tipped speer and wounding it ... so that Hadrian had to gallop to his rescue and dispatch the beast.

Hadrian added medallions to the Arch of Constantine showing him and Antinous with feet on the lion's neck and also making sacrifice to the great lion-killer Hercules.

Soon legend would have it that scarlet-red lotus blossoms had sprung forth from the pool of the lion's blood -- which we honor as THE SACRED LOTUS MOON, the Pisces Third Quarter Moon in June.

Within a few short weeks after the Sacred Lion Hunt, Antinous himself would be dead. The Sacred Lion Hunt is the last recorded event in His short life.

The Leo Full Moon in the bold and fiery sign of the Lion is a time to take center stage, stand in the spotlight and play the starring role in the divine drama. Leo is the sign of creative extroversion and action.

Meditations and rituals conducted tonight are best suited for finding courage and determination in daunting situations. Remember always that courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. Tonight's rituals and meditations should enable you to traverse the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to set forth on the journey ... with adamantine-tipped spear in hand ... galloping forward.

This is another week dominated by the Jupiter-opposition-Uranus aspect which has brought us so much confusion and woe. ... a rather frightening aspect which occurs only once every 12 years. The last time Jupiter opposition Uranus occurred was on 30th August 2003. These two major planets are now in exact, 180-degree opposition to each other ... and will remain very closely aligned through most of 2017. After that, they will be in opposition in 2031 and 2045. Jupiter opposite Uranus signals a year of sudden and often reckless change. On the global level, that means sudden crises caused by incautious leaders who act without thinking about what they are doing. On the personal level, you will feel a strong urge to react, or rebel against anything that is stopping you from having fun and doing what you want. The expansive nature of Jupiter, the shocking nature of Uranus, and the antagonistic nature of the opposition mean that there is likely to be particular sudden event that releases built up tension and leads to a major change in circumstances. On the spiritual level, a change in beliefs or social interaction may be all it takes to act as a "restart" which causes people to reassess their religious beliefs. At the deeper level, you are seeking a burst of higher awareness, to transcend your daily routine and bring on a spiritual growth spurt. Then on Tuesday vengeance and enmity ignite erupt when Mercury and Uranus are in a 90-degree right angle to each other, completing a week dominated by explosive Uranian configurations. This is the second time this year that Mercury square Uranus has plagued us. The last time, in mid-July, was a time rife with mass shootings and terrorist attacks. The stresses are intensified later in the week when Mercury is in a tight, 90-degree square angle to Jupiter. Beware of online websites that promote gross exaggerations or promises that sound too good to be true — because most likely they aren't true. Or on a whim, you might take on a large assignment on the mistaken belief that you can easily manage it, when in fact it overwhelms you. Moderation and caution are the keywords for Mercury square Jupiter. On the other hand: don't be so cautious that you fail to buy a lottery ticket — because Mercury square Jupiter can sometimes favor the underdog with unexpected good fortune.

Overnight Friday/Saturday we come to the Taurus First Quarter Moon, the lunar phase of young love which, in Antinous Moon Magic, we call the ANTINOUS AMOR MOON ... this moon is perfect for Valentine's Day! Also: your optimism is only matched by your ambition when Mars forms a sextile aspect with Jupiter. You will feel capable of achieving anything and will want to go for the gold. So go for it!

This weekend Venus leaves dreamy and romantic Pisces and charges into hot and horny Aries. Sitting in front of your computer wistfully fantasizing about Mr. Right suddenly gives way to the urge to go out and find him ... and not stop until you have found him. Aries Venus can be overly assertive and me-firsty in relationships. But if you are congenitally shy and retiring, this means you may finally work up the audacity to stand up for yourself ... and about time, too. But move fast because Venus leaves Aries on April 30th to settle down in placid and docile Taurus, where Venus prefers the comforts of home.

Everyone becomes aware of these vices and now there is an opportunity to remedy them Overall, Jupiter retrograde 2017 is very promising for achieving growth and happiness in a particular area of life that is important to you now. Unexpected good fortune is at hand with work, travel, education or a new relationship. Whatever your hopes for the future may be, this years Jupiter retrograde is an opportunity to make great leaps towards living out your dreams. If your goals are unrealistic, deceitful or greedy then the Jupiter direct phase from June to September 2017 may result in disappointment and loss. Even if you are travelling on the right path at this stage, you will be reminded how important it is to be happy and content with what you have. Jupiter retrograde 2017 requires introspection and an awareness that inner, spiritual growth is necessary for your hopes and dreams to materialize.

DIAMONDS SHINE FOR THE AMOR MOON By Our Crystal Meditation Advisor Martin Campbell

LOVE is what the universe is all about. Love is the most important vibration that emitted from the divine source at the beginning of the Universe.

Whatever God, Gods, Spirits, Angels, Saints, Martyrs etc that you worship, they channel love through you and you channel it back through them to the divine source.

They are all conduits for this exchange of love.

For us, of course, Antinous is that main conduit. For him the greatest symbol of Love, given physically to him by Hadrian, was an 'Adamantine' (diamond) spear head. 

It was that symbol of Love that Antinous used to display his most courageous act of Love in return. His Adamantine tipped spear killed the lion jumping to kill Hadrian.

Above is a photo of a piece of jewellery that I commissioned to contain a beautiful crystal glass intaglio of Antinous I bought. 

It features the unfortunate lion and a spear. 

One end of the spear has a heart, the other end has a tiny diamond set into the point (not visible in the photo).

We all hope to shoot our own metaphorical arrows/spears of desire into those things or people we love. Our loving thoughts reach out from us and connect whether we realise it or not. 

We are sometimes astonished when our objects of desire, friends, family members and even animals make it obvious to us that they know, and knew all along, that we love them. 

Don't be surprised. Love is an energy just as are hate, jealousy, indifference and murderous intent. 

Love however is the strongest of all emotions/energies. It overrides all others and ALWAYS defeats negativity or evil. 

It is immensely powerful and positive and emits strong signals that we all pick up on whether we are aware of it or not.

At this time of year, therefore, and during tonight's AMOR MOON, it is so important to meditate on whom or what you love. 

Crystals have strong energies too and can boost your love arrows as they emanate from your core. 

Perhaps unsurprisingly there are more crystals that can assist you with Love than any other energy/vibration/intention/thought process you may have. 

For this moon phase the obvious crystal is the strongest of them all and that which best reflects the light of Love brought to us from and to the Source - diamonds of course!

Diamonds - Are bringers of the purest Light and help us to focus on and receive Love in the form of relationships, commitment and fidelity. Meditations using diamonds are likely to be intense, revelatory and full of imagery.

They are, though, very expensive and I try to recommend crystals that are easily affordable from crystal shops or websites. 

So, there are other more accessible stones/crystals with Love as a key aspect of their characteristics. I list just a few...

Garnets - These inspire Love and devotion and can boost your sexual energies (which may or may not be useful in this moon phase?!!).

Rose Quartz - Perhaps those crystal most readily associated with Love. They are the crystal of true and unconditional Love and can help you to attract it. 

Topaz - These wondrous gemstones (shown at left) help you to emanate Love. They bring you good health and good fortune which, obviously, makes it easier for you to be loving.

THE ANTINOUS AMOR MOON THE TAURUS FIRST QUARTER MOON

TONIGHT's Taurus First Quarter Moon is the lunar phase of young love which, in Antinous Moon Magic, we call the AMOR MOON.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Amor Moon is the Great God of Love. Also known as Eros-Cupid, he is foremost of the Gods of the Religion of Antinous.

He is the first impulse upon which the world was created, and he is the beauty and perfection of all creation. He is called Phanes, the radiant being of beauty who emerged from the egg of night.

Others say that he is the son of Uranus and Gaia, or that he was born when Venus was born, and that he is the leader of a whole army of Erotes who attended Venus as she rose from the sea.

But Amor/Eros is also said to be the son of Venus, the Mother of Love, and his father is often said to be Mars, which is why Amor so often uses violence to obtain love.

Amor makes the world burn with the desire for beauty, he conquers all and is the drive that sustains life, Love is Life.

He inspires us through desire, to fight for our gratification, which is why the stag grows horns, to do battle in the time of rut.

Often he is portrayed as a youth with wings because he is flighty and has no reason or control over his desires. Eros is madly in love with the soul, with Psyche, who dwells within all of us, he cannot resist the beauty that is in our hearts and so therefore, he never disdains us.

One of his twins is Anteros ... "Love Returned to the Lover" ... and Anteros can devolve into Zelus ... fear, envy, jealousy.

The First Quarter Taurus Moon is the moon of comfort and luxury and lovableness. It is the fresh bloom of love.

Meditations and rituals carried out tonight are best suited for delving into matters of love and romance.
