Mid-week is dominated by Mars, which leaves fiery Sagittarius and enters no-nonsense Capricorn, where it will remain for six weeks until November 9th. Mars works very well in Capricorn — in fact, Mars can be quite the little workhorse! Action that pursues your ambitions, goals, projects or objectives can make serious progress under this transit. It may be easier to pace yourself and be disciplined in how you use your energy and effort now. Taking a serious, responsible attitude in your actions is likely to produce positive results, even more-so than usual. On the other hand, if you have difficulty with these qualities, and tend to rebel or fight to preserve your freedom, you might feel more like you're being strapped into a yoke and harness and ordered to plow the fields. However, the amount of serious, authentic work you're willing to put your energy into will likely pay off in kind. It can be a good time to show leadership or to make independent decisions that lead by example. Taking risks will make more sense if you prepare your strategy and map out your plan of action.

Overnight Friday/Saturday we come to the LIBRA NEW MOON... the Lunar Phase we call the TRIPOD MOON in Antinous Moon Magic in honor of the clouds of incense with which three-footed incense braziers filled the Ancient Temples of Antinous. The clouds of incense created a sacred other-worldly atmosphere of intoxication and purification ... but made rational decision-making difficult. MONDAY-TUESDAY OCT. 3rd-4th, 2016
Overnight Monday/Tuesday the Sun forms a cozy sextile aspect with Saturn, which provides an opportunity to slow down and stand back and review what plans you have in for the last quarter of 2016. No matter how fast and furiously (and destructively) things have been occurring so far this year, you now have a chance to analyze and study what needs to be done to ensure things are smoother the rest of the year.

The only bright side is the fact that Mercury leaves hyper-critical Virgo and enters laid-back Libra, where diplomacy and balanced thinking are enhanced.

At mid-week, Mercury is at right angles to Mars. Some astrologers say this is when people sharpen their swords, but we prefer to say it is when people sharpen their tongues to use as weapons! Remember that lovely line from "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde (who is a Saint of Antinous, by the way): "On an occasion of this kind it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind. It becomes a pleasure." This is an aspect which encourages people to say vicious and intentionally hurtful things. People are overly persnickety and bitchy and downright mean. You'll be amazed how true this is.

Batten down the hatches and brace for trouble this weekend ... when the threat of assassinations, political upheavals, armed conflicts and even earthquakes is acute. Mercury is in tense aspects to Saturn and Pluto even as the Sun is in 180-degree opposition to rebellious Uranus. These configurations bring unexpected and cataclysmic encounters or events which shake up the world ... including your own personal world. As if that were not enough, overnight Saturday/Sunday we come to the ARIES FULL MOON which amps up the tension levels 100 percent! Be careful: In Antinous Moon Magic we call this the LIGHTNING MOON for the bolt of lightning which nearly killed Hadrian and Antinous atop Mount Cassius in autumn of the year 129 AD. The LIGHTNING MOON is the most impetuous and accident-prone moon of the year.
