If you have been aiming too high and living in a dream world of Jovian optimism, then you will get a powerful jolt back to reality via Uranus. The good news, of course, is that you will not have far to fall if you have kept both feet planted firmly on the ground all along. It is a reality check. A big bad reality check. Many will tumble and fall. But you won't fall far if you have had those two feet of yours rooted in reality.

On Thursday the three-weeks of waiting are nearly over when Mercury slows down to a standstill — and starts slowly moving forward again. For the past three weeks s RETROGRADE MERCURY has spawned confusion in communications and commerce. About three times each year, Mercury the communications wizard turns into Mercury the fast-talking con man. This is the RETROGRADE MERCURY phase, and it lasts about three weeks. But it is ending now. However, because Mercury is standing still and only barely inching forward again, it would be best to wait until Monday before signing major contracts or making major expenditures. By that time, Mercury will be surging forward at full speed again.

Saturday and Sunday will not be the easiest weekend of the year because both Mars and Saturn stop dead in their tracks, do an about-face, and begin moving backwards. "Retrograde" periods of any planet are times of unease. But Retrograde Mars and Retrograde Saturn are times of potential peril. Mars will be retrograde from March 1 to May 20 — 10 weeks! Saturn will be retrograde even longer — from March 2 to July 20!When a planet is retrograde, it appears to be moving backward in the sky from the perspective of the Earth. Of course, the planet is actually continuing in its usual orbit, and the retrograde effect is a kind of optical illusion. Since perspective is so important in astrology, however, retrograde planets do correspond to recognizable meanings.
Mars is the planet associated with the Warrior archetype. It is therefore the planet we look to when we want to know about assertiveness, aggression, determination, and action. Mars is also closely associated with sexuality — not the love and romance aspect of sex, but the more instinctual, desire-driven side of it.
Retrograde Mars is usually is considered to be a poor time to begin a new sexual relationship, but there is no reason to abstain altogether for ten weeks. The underlying meaning of Mars retrograde is that energy is lacking — and that's why new sexual relationships are seen as being doubtful: the desire may not last.
The same goes for Retrograde Saturn. Relationships started now tend not to have endurance, nor do jobs or leases or such material things as repairs. House repairs undertaken now will need to be re-done before long. A new car will wear out or break down soon.
It is also thought to be a poor time to begin a new job. Now, with a down economy, it is unlikely that many people who are looking for work would refrain from taking a job that was available, and that is not necessary. However, jobs that begin on Mars and/or Saturn retrogrades often fail to live up to expectations and energy seems to be dissipated: Bill Clinton was sworn into office for both his terms with Mars retrograde.
The one bright spot this weekend is a glowing trine aspect between the Sun and fortuitous Jupiter. This configuration provides a big, bright ray of hope which helps you to keep your spirits up. While Mars and Saturn are holding down both of your legs, Sun/Jupiter keep your head high and your eyes focused on the stars.
