Overnight Friday/Saturday we come to the lunar phase we call the LION HUNT MOON, the LEO FULL MOON. It is a reminder that Antinous slew a man-eating lion in Egypt. Antinous peered out into the barren wilderness with all its deep and hidden dangers. He charged forth, his bridle-reins in one hand and an adamantine-tipped spear in the other, and he faced the beast unafraid. For Antinous knew he would triumph over death. The Spirit of the Lion Hunt is the bravery of Antinous the Lion Slayer. To underscore the theme of courage and self-confidence, the Sun is aligned with Mercury and both are in a valiant trine with War God Mars.

On Sunday self-confidence continues to be the theme for this weekend when Mercury and Mars are in a trine while ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is in positive configurations with Jupiter, Pluto and Venus. The Venus aspect enables you to build up the courage you need to approach that someone special.

On Tuesday the atmosphere changes dramatically when the Sun leaves inquisitive Aquarius and plunges into deeply intuitive Pisces for the next few weeks. Traditionally, this coincides with a period of fasting in many cultures. But when we speak of "fasting" in Antinous Moon Magic, we don't mean starving yourself for four weeks. Instead, this should be a time of becoming intuitively conscious of what you imbibe or consume. It is a time of conscious awareness of yourself as a spiritual entity. HOMOTHEOSIS ... On Wednesday you get a possibly harsh reality check when Retrograde Mercury backs up into a 90-degree square angle to Saturn — just three weeks after having squared Saturn. Bad things come in threes: Mercury and Saturn will be at right angles again on March 11. This is a test of your patience. Think of a teacher handing back essays to pupils and criticizing everyone harshly for not doing well enough. The teacher is overly harsh. The pupils respond by being rebellious. Saturn is the teacher. Mercury is the pupil. Just remember that there is a little bit of both Saturn and Mercury inside you — so try to be aware of how you respond to this astrological test.
