JASPER, JADE, PERIDOT TRANSMUTE ANGER By Our Crystal Therapy Adviser Martin Campbell

TONIGHT's Discordia Moon (Cancer Third Quarter Moon) confronts us with the challenges of anger suppressed or expressed (perhaps too vehemently in some cases!). My suggestions for crystals to mediate with, through this period, are:

Jasper - this crystal/stone gives you the courage to face and deal with problems which are causing stress or anger. So hopefully will help avoid the anger as it emerges. There are various colours/colors of Jasper so you may want to hold a few different colours to find the one that best helps you get in touch with the courage you are wanting to find.

Rhodonite - this is a wonderful stone which helps to transmute anger and give the user the strength to heal the cause. It is one of my favourites/favorites!

Red Jade - this is good for releasing anger and letting off steam.

Peridot - this is a beautiful, translucent, green, semi-precious crystal usually found in volcanic areas. It is, perhaps, not surprising, therefore, that it helps you to relieve stress and anger. It is best worn in pendants or rings so the effect is continuous.

The photo at the top of this entry shows a pendant composed of red jade "apples" and green peridot "leaves" on a wrought wire silver Tree of Life.

Love and Light,

Martin

MARTIN CAMPBELL is an author living in Britain who is adept at Antinous Moon Magic in its special forms of pendulum, card reading and crystal magic. He is the author of THE LOVE GOD, a historical novel tracing the life of Antinous from the moment his tousle-haired head emerges from his mother's womb under auspicious stars in Asia Minor to the moment his head sinks beneath the swirling waters of the Nile on a starry evening in Egypt.

THE DISCORDIA MOON THE CANCER THIRD QUARTER MOON

DISCORDIA is the deity we honor during tonight's Cancer Third Quarter Moon, which occurs after the Autumnal Equinox and heralds the onset of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere. For our brothers in the Southern Hemisphere the Discordia Moon signals that hot days will soon be here.

In Antinous Moon Magic, each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Discordia Moon is the Spirit of Rage and Fury. It is the embodiment of wrathfulness, exasperation, irritation, dudgeon, bile, gall, malice, combativeness and irascibility. It is as mad as can be and has no more patience.

The key words are: Rage. Wrath. Anger. Dispute. Fighting. Intense Annoyance. Aggravation. Aggression. Conflict. War.

This Lunar Phase takes in all "rage issues" from annoyance with a loud neighbor to all-out physical altercations.

In ages past, this was when the gypsy fortune-teller would do a reading for a young man, saying, "War is coming and you must fight!"

On a psychological level, meditations during this Lunar Phase show where your anger or aggression lies in a reading. On a gay spiritual level, it shows where you need to stand up and assert yourself.

Anger can be a powerful ally, since it is filled with energy that we can harness and use to create change in the world.

It is one of the most cathartic emotions, and it can also be a very effective cleanser of the emotional system.

However, when it becomes a habit, it actually loses its power to transform and becomes an obstacle to growth.

Meditations and rituals during the Discordia Moon can help you in identifying the role anger plays in your life and restoring it to its proper function so that it can bring new energy and expansiveness to your emotional life.

ASTRO FORECAST: OCTOBER 9 — 19, 2014

Antinous Astrology Forecast

---

OCTOBER 9 to 19, 2014

---

THURSDAY OCTOBER 9, 2014

On Thursday pay special attention to your dreams (and even to your daydreams) when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is in opposition to incisive Scorpio Mercury and also in a dream-inducing sextile with Neptune.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 10, 2014

On Friday Retrograde Mercury slips "backwards" out of Scorpio and re-enters Libra, which it left only days ago. This is a good opportunity to "go back" and smooth ruffled feathers and make amends with Libran diplomacy ... after having said some unkind things while Mercury was in naughty Scorpio.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 11, 2014

On Saturday you may turn down the wrong street and enter the wrong door of the wrong club ... and find Mr. Right waiting for you. That is because the most unusual twists of luck can occur when the Sun forms a lucky sextile aspect with Jupiter even as Venus is in opposition with surprised-filled Uranus. This is all part of an ongoing cosmic configuration called a GRAND CARDINAL KITE which is a trapezoidal configuration involving the Sun, Uranus, Venus, Jupiter and Mars ... splayed out across the Zodiac like the spar braces of a kite. This kite formation unleashes generally fortuitous energies which help us collectively to soar aloft from earthly problems — and helps you on a personal level to soar above your petty everyday problems, giving you the elevation and altitude to see solutions to those problems from another angle ... and possibly find Mr. Right.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12, 2014

On Sunday you (and Mr. Right from last night) will be looking for fun and adventure when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD joins in the kite-flying fun of the GRAND CARDINAL KITE configuration by squaring off against Neptune and making positive aspect to Venus and Uranus. And if you did not find Mr. Right last night ... maybe you will tonight.

MONDAY OCTOBER 13, 2014

On Monday one of the most powerful and power-filled weeks of the year gets off to a marvelous start whenANTINOUS THE MOON GOD forms joyous aspects with the Jupiter, the Sun and Mercury before going opposite Mars to keep your energies level all day.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 14, 2014

Tuesday is one of the two or three most fortuitous days for love and romance when lovely laid-back Libra Venus forms a sexy sextile aspect with lucky Leo Jupiter. This aspect, which occurs only twice a year, enhances not only your chances of falling in love with someone, but also enhances your ability to love and appreciate yourself more. You sense intuitively the things ... and the people ... that fill you with joy and that are good for you.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 15, 2014

On Wednesday the Earth will shake and conflicts will rumble around the globe ... and throughout your own household ... when the Sun forms a powerful sextile aspect with Mars even as ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is at right angles to the Sun. This is the Cancer Third Quarter Moon, which is the "Discordia Moon" in Antinous Moon Magic ... The goddess Discordia can be a powerful friend ... or deadly foe. Many gay men have assertiveness problems. On a gay spiritual level, the Discordia Moon shines its light on problem areas where you need to stand up and assert yourself. Anger is one of the most cathartic emotions, and it can also be a very effective cleanser of the emotional system. However, when it becomes a habit, it actually loses its power to transform and becomes an obstacle to growth. Meditations and rituals during the Discordia Moon can help you in identifying the role anger plays in your life and restoring it to its proper function so that it can bring new energy and expansiveness to your emotional life.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 16, 2014

On Thursday your brain is ablaze with often confusing and conflicting ideas when Retrograde Mercury aligns with the Sun. Old astrology texts dating back to Ancient Rome call this a potentially hazardous time, and speak of a "Scorched Mercury" which impairs communications and judgment. But in ANTINOUS MOON MAGIC, we see that very differently. This Sun/Mercury conjunction is indeed intense, but in a positive way. Antinous/Mercury focuses the gay spiritual light of his heavenly father Ra-Herakhte right at you. Open your spiritual heart to the light and joy and permit it to burn away all doubt and all fear and trepidation. Most people live in spiritual darkness. They are like people who live in caves and are afraid of sunlight because it hurts their eyes. But should we shun the light and stay in the cave with them? Antinous/Mercury says it's safe to open your spiritual eyes — and spiritual heart — and become accustomed to the light.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 17, 2014

On Friday you find the words you are looking for to pursue both romantic and business goals when Mercury joins the Sun in a sextile aspect to Sagittarius Mars. Whether it is a request for a pay increase or a pick-up line in the clubs, you find just the right words for the occasion — and you have the chutzpah to go after your goal.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 18, 2014

On Saturday the Leo Moon squares off against incisive and stubborn Scorpio Saturn. If you find yourself up against an immovable force, the best thing to do is to accept the inevitable and quit while you're still ahead.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 19, 2014

On Sunday you wake up from incredibly vivid dreams and your whole day is spent in daydreams as ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD in 180-degree opposition to dreamy Neptune. Listen to your intuition. Pay attention to your dreams. They are trying to tell you something.

SNEAK PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK:

Another exciting week lies ahead between October 20 and 26 when tensions reach a new climax during a Solar Eclipse of ill omen which coincides with the SCORPIO NEW MOON. In Antinous Moon Magic this lunar phase is called the ZELUS MOON of fear, angst and anxiety ... and using Antinous Moon Magic to triumph over fear. More details next time ....

AQUA AURA FOR THE LIGHTNING MOON By Our Crystal Therapy Adviser Martin Campbell

THE Aries Full Moon ... the "Lightning Moon" in Antinous Moon Magic ... ushers in a period of potentially intense and/or sudden change. So, I recommend the following:

1. Moonstone - this is absolutely the best crystal at this time. It helps accepting change as part of a cycle of moon phases.

2. Bloodstone - helps you to act in the present moment, and deal with change. It is also meant to help you control the weather!

3. Clear Calcite - Helps you accept new beginnings.

4. Aqua Aura - my favourite suggestion for this lunar cycle. (Photo top of this entry.) It is clear quartz crystal fired in an oven with gold dust. So not dissimilar to being struck by gold lightning! The process creates a magical blue crystal.

Friends of mine comment on the 'point' I often wear with a deep blue Iolite mounted in silver with it (one of the attributes of Iolite is supporting the body in improving physical health).

Aqua Aura creates space for something new to come into your life. Of course, being 'created' by man made processes may mean that some people get sniffy about it!

There are other crystals I could recommend but I prefer recommending only those that are readily available unless there is the perfect, rarer, crystal for a particular lunar cycle. The above are all readily available although the Aqua Auras can be expensive.

Love and Light until next week,

Martin Campbell

THE LIGHTNING MOON OF ANTINOUS THE ARIES FULL MOON

TONIGHT's Aries Full Moon is the moon when surprises occur which can change your life in the blink of an eye.

In Antinous Moon Magic, we call this Lunar Phase the LIGHTNING MOON. Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the LIGHTNING MOON is the Spirit of Suddenness. This Spirit is immediate, spontaneous, abrupt, instantaneous. It is all things that are as fast as lightning, quick as a flash, operating at the speed of light.

We call it the LIGHTNING MOON because of the bolt of lightning which nearly killed Hadrian and Antinous atop Mount Casius near the mouth of the Orontes River in Asia Minor.

It was at the season of the Autumnal Equinox in the year 129 AD that the imperial court ascended Mount Casius as it was called by the Greeks and Romans. It was called Zaphon in biblical accounts and is called Mount Aqraa today, situated on the border between Syria and Turkey.

Atop this mountain overlooking the sea was a Temple of the Sun dedicated to Jupiter. A storm broke while they made their ascent, and Hadrian had the priests conduct the Equinox ceremony in the rain.

During the sacrifice at the altar, a bolt of lightning struck with a horrific, earth-shattering clap of thunder, killing the priest and the sacrificial animal together.

This was taken as a very significant portent, one that Antinous alone comprehended, the darkness of the coming death and transfiguration were presaged.

Hadrian took it as a sign that the gods of Syria had turned against him, thinking it was Baal-Zeus who struck down the priests as a warning to Hadrian of what lay ahead during the fateful journey which would end in the tragic death of Antinous.

The LIGHTNING MOON is the most impetuous and accident-prone moon of the year.

However, it is not a Lunar Phase to fear. Abrupt change can be frightening, but this Lunar Phase reminds us that change is a necessary part of life. And sometimes we need to be shocked out of lethargy in order to move in a new direction.

In magical rituals, this Lunar Phase is ideal for effecting speedy and immediate results. In spiritual meditation, it is suited for bringing out inspiration which comes out of no where, like a bolt out of the blue.

And in mundane, everyday life, it reminds us to watch our step, keep our eye on the road and don't stand exposed on a mountain top during a thunderstorm ... unless, of course, you are prepared to undergo a dramatic transfiguration.

ASTRO FORECAST: OCTOBER 1 — 12, 2014

Antinous Astrology Forecast

---

OCTOBER 1 to 12, 2014

---

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 1, 2014

On Wednesday you should reflect on business and career opportunities during the CAPRICORN FIRST QUARTER MOON. In Antinous Moon Magic, we call this the MERCHANT MOON which offers you an opportunity to reap the benefits of your hard work — and find new opportunities for material advancement.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 2, 2014

On Thursday surprise is in the air when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD squares off against bumptious Aries Uranus. Whether the surprises are good or bad will depend primarily on whether you can roll with the punches and rebound on your feet.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 3, 2014

On Friday the work week ends on an ominous note when the Sun squares off against Pluto, as it does twice a year for a couple of days of tension. Sun Square Pluto means: extremes, zealotry, anxiety. Maybe you will experience something that will shake your self-confidence. Current conditions may cause a minor crisis or a twist. Avoid thoughtlessness and the radical solutions, you could harm yourself. Someone who has some power over you tries to crack the whip a bit too sternly.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 4, 2014

On Saturday Mercury does an about-face and goes "backwards" as seen from Earth until October 25th. This RETROGRADE MERCURY phase is a time of confusion in communications and commerce. About three times each year, Mercury the communications wizard turns into Mercury the fast-talking con man. This is the RETROGRADE MERCURY phase, and it lasts about three weeks. So RETROGRADE MERCURY will be serving up glitches and snafus in the Scorpio-related areas of passions, secret agreements, independence and dependability. If you are buying a new mobile phone, be sure to read the fine print about hidden costs. Planning to move into a new apartment? Check the kitchen and bathroom for tell-tale signs of mold before signing the lease. Remember over the next three weeks that MERCURY wants you to play his sly game to win — not to be a whining victim. Make him proud of the way you play his game!

But this is not all bad. I read just the other day that one acclaimed astrologer says that this is the best time to buy a USED car or second-hand garment or old TV set. The idea behind that is that RETROGRADE MERCURY is a bad time to undertake NEW projects or acquisitions, but that you can splurge on RETRO things. It's a Collectibles Queen's dream, I tell you!

If they are having a close-out sale on end-of-the-line big-screen TVs — this may be the best time to buy one. And if you completed all the pre-signing details on a new house or a new job prior to the RETROGRADE MERCURY phase, then you can go ahead and sign on the dotted line. If you applied for a job two months ago and the boss calls you up now as says you've got it, then you got it under the pre-Retrograde conditions!

Or perhaps not. Astrologers are never entirely certain about such things. As the Empress Livia (wife of Augustus) said about her astrologer Thrasyllus: "Every good astrologer lies about the present. He tells the truth about the future, but lies about the present."

I'm telling you the truth about the fact that the next month or so will be difficult. But if you buy a crappy old used TV set today that turns out to be junk — well, I certainly wouldn't do that, not during RETROGRADE MERCURY, I don't care what any "expert" says.

I'm joking, of course. I'm trying not to scare you. People hear of RETROGRADE MERCURY and they want to put off all major decisions and hide under the bed for a month or so. As Emperor Hadrian knew, astrology is not intended to scare people. Hadrian was obsessed with astrology. He knew that astrology is intended to serve as a monitoring system or an early-warning system.

An astrological warning is like seeing a "Sharp Curve Ahead" sign on a dark roadway. Antinous-Mercury doesn't expect you to slam on the brakes and stop in the middle of the road and break down into sobs of fear at the steering wheel. No, he wants you to proceed with due caution, using the experience and skill you possess as a driver.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 5, 2014

On Sunday adventure is the key word when bold Sagittarius Mars forms a trine aspect with rambunctious Aries Uranus and both are in a near-perfect trine with Leo Jupiter. All three planets are in Fire Signs, which give this positive energy a fiery boost. This Mars/Uranus/Jupiter aspect goads you into being more adventurous, into taking a few risks. You feel sexy and virile and you are ready to make your move.

MONDAY OCTOBER 6, 2014

On Monday it's the calm before the storm when ANTINOUS THE MOOON GOD makes constructive and even soothing aspects with Pluto and Saturn while adding a little spice by squaring off to Mars. Listen to your intuition because you will needs its insights in the tense days to come.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 7, 2014

On Tuesday agitation, unrest and impatience rule the world when the Sun is in 180-degree opposition to Uranus ... an event which occurs only once a year. This means a couple of days of rebellious impulses and make-or-break situations.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8, 2014

On Wednesday incredibly powerful celestial energies are at work which can be both positive and negative. To start with, we have a Total Eclipse of the Moon which will be visible from Eastern Australia across the Pacific to the west coast of the Americas. This TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE coincides with the ARIES FULL MOON. But be careful: In Antinous Moon Magic we call this the LIGHTNING MOON for the bolt of lightning which nearly killed Hadrian and Antinous atop Mount Cassius in autumn of the year 129 AD. The LIGHTNING MOON is the most impetuous and accident-prone moon of the year.

In addition, there is a cosmic configuration called a GRAND CARDINAL KITE which is a trapezoidal configuration involving the Sun, Uranus, Venus, Jupiter and Mars ... splayed out across the Zodiac like the spar braces of a kite. This kite formation unleashes generally fortuitous energies which help us collectively to soar aloft from earthly problems — and helps you on a personal level to soar above your petty everyday problems, giving you the elevation and altitude to see solutions to those problems from another angle.

SNEAK PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK:

Another exciting week lies ahead between October 13 and 19 when we come to the Cancer Third Quarter Moon, which is the "Discordia Moon" in Antinous Moon Magic ... More details next time ....

THE CAPRICORN FIRST QUARTER MOON THE MERCHANT MOON OF ANTINOUS

TONIGHT is the night of the Capricorn First Quarter Moon which, in Antinous Moon Magic, is called the MERCHANT MOON.

In Antinous Moon Magic, each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Merchant Moon is Work. This Spirit enjoys taking up a task and doing it well and thoroughly. This Spirit likes to roll up its sleeves and get to work to see that a job gets done.

It is the proverbial Workaholic who lives only to work. It is the eager beaver, the busy bee, the workhorse who hates idleness and thrives on a job well done.

The Capricorn First Quarter Moon is an industrious, no-nonsense, let's-go-to-work sort of moon. It is symbolized by the Ancient Roman Merchant Ship which, alongside the trireme war ship, was the vessel which ensured prosperity, power and political unity for the vast Roman Empire.

Tonight is the best night of the year for working magical spells involving your life's Work. On the material plane, this can involve meditation, oracles and spells about your career, job, your employer or coworkers.

On a higher level, this lunar phase helps you to look into the broader implications of your life's calling. Do you live to work, or do you work to live? Are you able to juggle career and home life? Are you stuck in a rut?

This lunar phase brings out your spiritual ability to function in the world of work in general. On the earthly plane, it reflects your job/employer, your "day job" as opposed to spiritual or artistic endeavors.

For most people, and in most oracular readings, this lunar phase helps to sort out issues involving how you earn your living, and issues involving co-workers and job environment.

In a broader sense, the Merchant Moon helps you focus on your ability to keep your feet firmly planted on the material world while reaching for the stars.
