CHIRON the cosmic healer is now in Taurus. The wounded centaur Chiron entered Taurus on 19 June 2026, after spending eight years in the sign of Aries, and will stay there on and off until 2034.

This minor planet brings with it a cycle in which we will be improving our confidence, including body image. These are sensitive topics that can have a big effect on us. Personal and health problems that were hindering our progress are about to be revised and resolved.

We will be learning to comfort ourselves and focus on our needs in healthy doses without feeling guilty in the process. This transit emphasizes the concept that healing begins within oneself.

This transit of Chiron is unusually long, with the heavenly body spending eight years in Taurus. 

That is even longer than a Uranus transit. For comparison, when Chiron transits Libra, it takes it less than two years which is less than a Saturn transit.

Honestly, there are many issues that require resolving which is why Chiron spends so much time in Taurus. 

Aries is connected to our identity. Chiron is popularly known as the wounded healer. When transiting Taurus, Chiron's goal is to heal the deepest wound of them all: our personal identity wound.

What does it mean for you? Chiron leaves a part of your chart and moves into an area you have not really explored into depth, or have not even touched at all. Chiron transiting Taurus will point to the area you need to heal so that you integrate all your parts and become whole again.

It is good to remember who Chiron is ... the wisest and noblest of all the Centaurs in Classical Mythology. 

While all the other centaurs galloped off to riotous ruin and drunken oblivion, Chiron alone shared the knowledge he had inherited from the Titans ... tutoring a series of sensitive youths ... Achilles, Jason, Perseus, Theseus, Ajax, Dionysus, Hercules ... an endless list of heroes and demigods. He schooled them in the arts and sciences ... teaching them to be musicians and physicians.

It is said that Aesculapius himself became the god of medicine only through the skilled hands of Chiron ... "Chiron's skilled hands" in Greek "kheirourgos" living on today in the word "chirurgie" ... "surgeon."

Alas ... to use another word found in most Greek Myths ... Chiron was accidentally wounded by a hydra-venom arrow whilst teaching Hercules archery.

Rather than use all his powers to heal himself ... leaving nothing for his pupils ... Chiron voluntarily relinquished immortality and died ... whereupon his half-brother Zeus placed him amongst the stars as the Constellation of Sagittarius.

Grieving Hercules went on to tutor a series of twinkish youths himself ... most notably his beloved Hylas ... who was abducted by nymphs, never to be seen again ... prompting Hercules to search the world ... shouting "Hylas! Hylas!" everywhere he went.

Hylas is the source of the English word: "Alas!"

Drawing on Classical Mythology, Carl Jung coined the term "wounded healer" to describe how psychotherapists must connect with the archetype of Chiron. Jung said that the best psychoanalysts are themselves in desperate need of healing ... and that, by identifying with their inner "wounded healer," they can heal their patients ... even if they are unable to heal themselves.

THE BLOOD MOON OF ANTINOUS IS A MOMENT OF MAGIC AND MYSTERY

And it is all happening at this magical moment. Twice a year there is a moment — in fact, a few days — when the sun seems to "stand still" in the heavens. From the Latin "sol stasis" we derive our name for these events: solstices.

That's the very odd thing about this blue marble upon which we live. The Solstice occurs at the same moment everywhere. But the hands on the clocks point to 23 different hours. And in some places it signals the start of summer (though the days start getting shorter), while in others the it signals the start of winter (though the days start getting longer).

But it is really the same moment and we are all living and breathing at this same moment, though we live in places where the hands of the clock point in all different directions. Each of us is alone. Jupiter was forced to comply. However, mortals could not look upon Jupiter without bursting into flames, which is what happened to Semele. Jupiter managed to save the unborn baby by sewing it inside his thigh. TONIGHT's Perdition Moon of Antinous focuses on coping with loss.

Each of us must cope with this on a daily basis. Recently, a woman consulted me about the loss of a moonstone which had popped out of the setting of a finger ring. She couldn't find it anywhere. I advised her on what the moonstone may have been "telling" her and offered my advice on her replacement ring ... handmade in India with two sapphires!

But sometimes we are confronted with a serious loss, such as the loss of a job, or a home or a loved one. This is profound grief ... something which Hadrian faced when Antinous died.

I have searched my cabinets for the best crystal for meditations in time of grief ... and I always come back to:

FIRE OPAL - In April 2012 I had a catastrophic brain haemorrhage and nearly died. My world was turned upside down I was suddenly disabled.  I grieved deeply.

Saturday offers in the perfect opportunity for a job interview or for a presentation of a special project. Mercury is in a good sextile aspect to Mars to help you get your point across articulately and strongly to others.

On Sunday, indulgent Venus squares off against excessive Jupiter. If you are planning to go to an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast ... then you will pig out because it's easy to fall victim to temptation during this configuration. We need to be wary of overdoing it with rich food, intoxicating drinks and other "vices." It will be difficult switching gears and getting back to work. There's even a possibility we'll forget responsibilities altogether. This isn't a good time to make luxury purchases. A sports car could require costly repair, a gourmet meal may be less than satisfying or an expensive outfit may be made with inferior materials. Wait another day to splurge. Getting good value for money will be very difficult under this configuration.

We we come to the Scorpio Third Quarter Moon. This is the Lunar Phase in Antinous Moon Magic which we call the PERDITION MOON of coming to terms with loss and diminishment. Meditations and rituals carried out during this Lunar Phase are best suited for seeking to come to terms with loss and finding areas in your life where you may unconsciously be causing yourself loss or sadness. This Lunar Phase is NOT about giving in to loss and grief, but rather it is about moving through them to find new ways towards growth and fulfillment.

At week's end, romantic Venus leaves emotionally cold Aquarius and dives into the romantic depths of Pisces. This sign change marks a major change not only in love but also in finances. Lucky breaks and popularity can lead to an inflated ego and other excesses in life. For example, you may have a tendency to over-estimate your own abilities or resources. This could lead to a scattering of energy or wasting money on unnecessary luxuries. There may also be a tendency to accumulate possessions such as collections of a special thing, coins, figurines etc. It may be that your beliefs and morals become over the top and cause difficulties with others. Excessive behaviors are most problematic because these are more likely to affect your close relationships. Overconfidence can get in the way of making lasting friendships. The key to dealing with the excessive nature of Jupiter is moderation. You can still maintain a healthy ego but you won’t want to let excess and pride damage your standing in the world. Jupiter is testing your ego. Any arrogance or boastfulness may actually be covering for a wounded ego, or a lack of self-confidence. Yes, you do wish to be of importance, to be famous or wealthy and to receive the praise and ovation you deserve. They key to dealing with this aspect, apart from moderation, is to not get ahead of yourself. Focus your energy on doing the groundwork, the daily grind needed to perfect your special gifts.

The Aquarius New Moon is also always CHINESE NEW YEAR and 2018 is the Year of the Dog, corresponding to the Element Earth, the Male Gender and the Color Brown. That means 2018 is Male Earth Dog. Male Earth is connected to dry soil, wall, mound or mountains. The major five element inside Dog is Male Earth too. The sign of 2018 Earth Dog is mountains over mountains. That implies the events related to land, real estate, county territory, agriculture, earthquake, mineral and the Earth will be more active than before. GORGEOUS GREEN COMET LOVEJOY LIGHTS UP ANTINOUS HOLIDAY SKIES

THE New Year's first celestial object to light up the skies is Lovejoy comet, already visible to the naked eye and expected to get even brighter over the next two weeks as the moonlight wanes after this weekend's Cancer Full Moon ... the LUNUS MOON of Antinous.

It will be at its brightest on January 11th when the Sun aligns with the STAR OF ANTINOUS for the most glorious day in our liturgical calendar ... VICTORIA ANTINOI ... This is the day that the 72 days of mourning and mummification are finished and Antinous the Gay God emerges from the perils of the Underworld to shine "younger than the newborn sun," as the Ancient Egyptian texts say.

The comet C/2014 Q2, named after an amateur Australian astronomer Terry Lovejoy, is flying our way from the edge of the solar system. 

The comet has been faintly visible for four months in the skies over the Southern Hemisphere. But it was not bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. 

The time-lapse photo at left was taken by Carlos Caccia in Argentina on December 24. The vertical streak is the ISS space station moving from west to east toward the rising sun.

Now it has brightened to 5 magnitude and will be visible high in the dark moonless sky through January ... especially in the Northern Hemisphere.

You will have to take a good look … because Lovejoy will not be back for another 8,000 years!

On January 7 it will pass at its closest, about 70 million kilometers from Earth. Although visible to unaided eye, spotting it in suburban light pollution would likely require at least a pair of binoculars.

The remarkable comet will pass near the constellation of Orion ... one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations ...  which should make it fairly easy to spot in the night sky.

In photos of the comet taken on it's approach it appears green, which is due to the way its molecules react to sunlight.

The comet appears green because its atoms and molecules are ionized and give off a specific wavelength of light … like a neon sign.

In this instance with the comet, it is due to the molecules cyanogen and diatomic carbon, which both glow green.

To the naked eye, though, the comet will appear grey; it is only cameras using a long exposure that bring out its green coloration.

The comet is particularly interesting because it is a long period comet - one that originates in the most outer reaches of the solar system, the Oort cloud.

Here, icy remnants of the young solar system orbit in a vast cloud, occasionally make long journeys into the inner solar system.

On rare occasions these comets are visible from Earth, as Lovejoy is now, before heading back out on its extremely long orbit … for another 8,000 years.

Anxiety - You will feel anxious about these truths being uttered - will you be judged harshly? I would suggest you use Iron Pyrite. These metallic crystal formations (often very geometric) are particularly good if you are a man (especially gay men) because it can help reduce those feelings of inadequacies you may have been feeling in comparison with other men. It will help you to boost your own assessment of your self worth.

Resolution - As you relax after this internal battle with your emotions you will want a feeling of resolution. Which of course can include transition from this life into the next.
