CRYSTALS FOR BACCHANALIA AND FORTUNA By Our Crystal Meditation Adviser Martin Campbell

THE dark nights of autumn (or spring if you live in the Southern Hemisphere) are a transitional period illuminated by two bright lunar phases: The BACCHANALIA MOON and the FORTUNA MOON.

The Bacchanalia Moon is a time of spring/harvest festivals and merry-making. This lunar phase is the patron moon of performers, musicians, actors, dancers and also of shamans and mediumistic channelers ... people who put on a mask and take on a different character for the evening. It is also a time for merry-making.

The Fortuna Moon is the luckiest lunar phase of the year, the time when meditations focus on areas in our lives where we are looking for success or for counting our blessings.

My crystal meditation choices for these two lunar phases are:

1. Joy/excess - Alexandrite Beryl (shown above). It brings joy and expands creativity. 2. Channeling - Angelite. It facilitates contact with the spirits and angels. 3. Fearful surprises - Orange Calcite. It removes fear and balances the emotions.  4. Positive surprises - Emerald. It enhances the enjoyment of the world and all it brings. 5. Good fortune - Sunstone. It helps you to link with benevolent gods and good fortune. 6. Positive manifestation - Citrine. It helps you to accept the positive flow of energies that will take you to where you sub-consciously (or even consciously) know you really need to be (physically, emotionally or spiritually). I had a very powerful visualisation when meditating with a beautiful little piece of Citrine recently.  I was guided to a vast cave where I found a pool of water illuminated by a shaft of light. I saw a marble bust of Antinous laid on its back in the water, so his face looked up at me. I am clairaudient so heard his voice say “remember I am always here”.  I think he meant both in terms of omnipotence but also within that crystal. I now carry it with me everywhere! THE BACCHANALIA MOON OF ANTINOUS THE LEO THIRD QUARTER MOON

TONIGHT's Leo Third Quarter Moon is called the BACCHANALIA MOON in Antinous Moon Magic for its gifts of transcendence. 

This Lunar Phase usually occurs close to the ancient festivals of Samhain, Halloween, All Souls Day, Dia de los Muertos and All Saints Day. This Lunar Phase reflects those festivals of peering into other worlds and states of being.

In ancient times, the Bacchanalia were wild and mystic festivals of the Greco-Roman god Bacchus (or Dionysus) aimed at achieving a transcendent state of spiritual awareness.

Antinous was often associated with Dionysus. Antinous/Dionysus is portrayed alongside Silenus god of wine and revelry in the image above from l'Oracolo della Sibilla, a traditional European oracle card deck created by Italian artist Giorgio Tavaglioni.

The Leo Third Quarter Moon is therefore a restless time of high-spirited indulgence, sometimes fun, sometimes slightly scary and always capable of unleashing powerful spirits.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. 

The Spirit of the Bacchanalia Moon is the Spirit of Gaiety, Fun, Pretend and Revelry. 

This Spirit likes to dress up in fancy dress or in a costume and pretend to be someone else. This Spirit likes to transcend other realities and, for a time, actually become someone else.

This Spirit knows that the cosmos is a big toy and that we are here to play a game. We are dervishes dancing ourselves into a trance. We are musicians and singers who use music to gain access to other realms. We are actors on a stage who have an entrance and who play a role and then depart.

There is no end to the performance and nobody actually dies for real. We just undergo a costume change and take on a new role.

In magical rituals, oracles and meditations, the keywords for this Magical Lunar Phase are: Gaiety. Revelry. Joy. Fun. Frivolity. Partying. Playing. Acting. Performing. Dancing. Theater and the Arts. 

This Lunar Phase represents "play time" of all sorts, from sports and games to New Year's Eve partying to shamanistic spiritual trance rituals. Also "playing" an instrument or "playing" a role on stage or on the screen. 

This Lunar Phase represents the transformational power of make-believe and "let's play like" which all performers know how to do.

On a mundane level, it refers to "having a good time". On a spiritual level, it refers to entering an altered state to commune with the divine, thus this Lunar Phase is the best time of the year for trance visions.

In health questions, meditations and rituals during this time can reference chronic substance abuse.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 12th, 2016

On Saturday Venus (love, sexual attraction, wealth) enters Capricorn (business, practicality, hard reality) and stays there until December 8th. The goddess of love will have us reviewing and renewing many of our relationship commitments and obligations in very tangible and concrete ways. Venus in Capricorn knows the laws of sexuality in any given culture, and is skilled at bending those laws to their benefit. Capricorn wants to be the boss of itself (and possibly you) and generally goes it alone, which is an interesting modus operandi for the planet that tells us about how we do partnership. This trip through the sign of the Goat can teach us about boundaries within our unions. There's nothing sexier than someone who isn't desperate for our affections while still remaining open, transparent and available for intimacy and spontaneity. Venus in Capricorn can become a bit of a cautious ice queen if it starts to take itself, its work and its ambitions too seriously. Career can become the ultimate turn on, and social status the greatest romance when Capricorn gets out of balance. Venus in Capricorn can teach us how to be one of the most loyal and dedicated partners around.

On Sunday Mercury leaves dour Scorpio and wings its way into high-spirited Sagittarius, where it will stay until December 3rd. No matter what your Sun sign is, this abrupt change will lighten your spirits. It is like tossing and turning all night and then seeing the pink glow of dawn on the eastern horizon. Everything will be better. Now, this does not mean that Scorpio Mercury is bad. On the contrary, Scorpio Mercury urges you to probe into deep thoughts and dig out the truth, even if it is unpleasant. That is very important. But Sagittarius Mercury urges you to look on the bright side, to find joy in your life and pursue the light at the end of the tunnel. The only disadvantage to Sadge Mercury is a certain tendency to be so busy talking about the light at the end of the tunnel that you miss the freeway exit to the tunnel — but Sagittarius Mercury is always optimistic and will find an innovative way to reach the destination.

On Wednesday your brain becomes finely honed to precision thinking when Mercury aligns in perfect conjunction with Saturn in high-spirited Sagittarius. You see clearly and optimistically into any difficult situation.

On Thursday ... US Thanksgiving Day ... Libra Jupiter is in a 90-degree square aspect to Capricorn Pluto. Then on Friday Venus joins this unlucky configuration by aligning in conjunction with Pluto and at right angles to Jupiter. THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME By Our Crystal Meditation Adviser Martin Campbell

THERE's no place like home and tonight's Taurus Full Moon ... "Hadrian's Villa Moon" ... is full of joy and settled comfort. 

You can luxuriate in the calm and comfort of the home be it a physical space, the welcome in your lover's arms or or that calm and comforting space in your consciousness when you you know you are safe and warm. 

There are really only three crystals I would advise meditation with for this moon phase:

1. Emerald - it brings a happy home, fidelity from your partner and protects you from external dark magic or ill intended enchantments. Emeralds sound expensive but those are the faceted ones in fine jewels - the 'raw' unfaceted ones are much cheaper and much more powerful (as is the case for all crystals, incidentally).

2.  Purprite – It is the crystal recommended to help you during a house move. It is also known to disperse negative energy and help you to feel at home in your future plans. I have strong personal experience of this lovely iridescent purple stone. 

My partner and I moved home in April this year. We had a worrying time leading up to the move when our first buyer dropped out. We were devastated because we thought we may lose our dream home. 

We were sitting in our old home one evening when we heard a loud bang in the kitchen.

On the kitchen floor, the other side of the room, was my Purprite. 

It had leapt across the wide room somehow. 

We kept it by us while the legal process happened - we found a new, better buyer, moved quickly and go £20,000 more than expected for our old house!

3. Your favourite crystal - if you have a crystal with you feel 'at one', regardless of the level of vibration associated with it, then it may be the best one for you to use right now.

As I've said before, you don't need to be an expert - just choose a crystal you like the look of, feel of, colour off. You will have been drawn to those sensation because that crystal is vibrating at the level you need or are in tune with.

THE HADRIAN's VILLA MOON THE TAURUS FULL MOON

TONIGHT's Taurus Full Moon is the lunar phase which is called the HADRIAN's VILLA MOON in Antinous Moon Magic.

The Taurus Full Moon best represents home and comfort following the harvest. In the Northern Hemisphere autumnal storms rage and temperatures plummet. 

Crops have been harvested, animals brought in from the meadows. It is time to come in from the cold.

Each lunar phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Hadrian's Villa Moon is the Spirit of Home-Sweet-Home. 

This is the Spirit which loves to build a comfy nest, a place to call one's own. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home for this Spirit. It is the Spirit of the special place which is your home, whether it be a rented room or a sprawling mansion.

This Spirit invites you to step inside, close the door behind you, kick off your shoes and revel in being Home.

The key words during this lunar phase are: Home. Hearth. Comfort. Security. Stability. Nesting. Cocooning. Tradition.

Meditation and magical rituals performed during this lunar phase are well suited to delving into issues concerning your home base, the place or situation where you feel at home and most comfortable. This can involve a house or apartment. It can also be a city or a state of mind.

It can literally refer to your domicile in questions about material matters such as mortgages and repairs.

In a larger sense, the energies which are exalted during this lunar phase concern your spiritual center, your focal point of being.

IT'S AMBER FOR THE CONCORDIA MOON By Our Crystal Meditation Adviser Martin Campbell

FOR tonight's Concordia Moon, the Aquarius First Quarter Moon, the focus is clearly on reconciliation, the bringing of peace - and being thankful for it - perhaps we have never needed it more

After the wicked and evil events of the last week (in France, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq)  most of us will be feeling the sharply focused emotions of hate, revulsion, sorrow and revenge.

Many of us will be living with daily strife at work, pressure from family or facing homophobic verbal or violent abuse.

While it may not be possible to seek peace face-to-face with some of those who oppress or hurt us there is always an opportunity to send love or forgiveness via focused meditation sending love or peace.

You may not wish to give your enemies forgiveness or peace but you may need to look inwards - do you need to forgive yourself?

Do you need to bring peace to yourself? It is difficult to wish for peace and forgiveness worldwide if you aren’t at peace inside.

You may also want to use crystals to help create that vibration of peace, forgiveness and solution seeking. I would suggest using:

FOR FORGIVENESS:

1. Beryl - it aids conscious thought process,inner peace and forgiveness. Beryls come in many colours - the pink ones are probably the most appropriate right now.

2. Pink Calcite - it releases fear and grief - especially in the past

FOR SOLUTION SEEKING:

Pink Agate - it helps you to see the bigger picture behind a dispute and seek solutions rather than dwelling on the situation.

THE ANTINOUS CONCORDIA MOON THE AQUARIUS FIRST QUARTER MOON

TONIGHT's Aquarius First Quarter Moon is the Lunar Phase in Antinous Moon Magic which we call the altruistic and magnanimous CONCORDIA MOON.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the the Concordia Moon is the embodiment of Reconciliation. It is the great diplomat, the peace-maker, the reconciler, the consensus seeker. It is the embodiment of understanding, mutual rapport, solidarity, team spirit, cooperation, reciprocity and peaceful coexistence.

It is the pleasure of shaking hands after having fought a good fight. It is the warm embrace of kissing and making up after a dispute.

It is the joy of reuniting with old friends after a long hiatus. It is the embodiment of the US festival called Thanksgiving, which normally occurs near the cycle of the Concordia Moon.

Coins minted during the reign of the Divine Hadrian often show his profile on the obverse or front side, and the goddess Concordia on the reverse side. Essentially, Hadrian was saying that diplomacy and peaceable relations were the backbone of the Roman Empire during his reign, rather than sheer military might which had characterized Rome up until then.

In Antinous Moon Magic, the cycle of the Concordia Moon is well suited for meditations and rituals aimed at resolving thorny problems and seeking just and amicable solutions to interpersonal strife.
