On Thursday you see the world through rose-colored glasses when the Sun is at right angles to Neptune. Sun-square-Neptune is the kind of aspect that occurs when Jack sells the family cow for a handful of "magic" beans. In the fairy tale, of course, the beans turn out to be magic after all. But on this weekend the beans aren't magic at all. If you head to the post-Memorial Day sales, it might be a good idea to watch your emotions and not let yourself be carried away. It might also be a good idea to watch your wallet and not let it be lifted by some pickpocket.

This promises to be one of the most extraordinary weekends of the year 2016 ... when just about anything might happen. The Sun and Venus both engage in a series of tense configurations with Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune which pave the way for all sorts of misunderstandings, disputes and outright mendacity. Whether in politics, at work or in your personal life, everything will be thrown up in the air and will come down who knows where. On top of it all, we come to the Gemini New Moon — a good time to set a goal for the coming four weeks. And given the presence of Gemini energy, it's an auspicious time to begin gathering the information you will need to set this mission in motion. In Antinous Moon Magic we call the Gemini New Moon the MERCURY/HERMES MOON because the mercurial and seemingly fickle energy of Gemini is in the spotlight during this New Moon period, amping up agitation and nervous energy.

MONDAY-WEDNESDAY JUNE 6-8, 2016

This week love will be waiting around the corner when Venus and the Sun align in perfect conjunction in convivial Gemini. Things will be steamy and passionate for sure. You may not form a bond for a lifetime, but it will be incredibly hot while it lasts. And because Venus is Retrograde, don't be surprised if this "new" love is someone from your past.

Thursday and Friday Mercury is in 180-degree opposition to Mars. Some astrologers say this is when people sharpen their swords, but we prefer to say it is when people sharpen their tongues to use as weapons! Remember that lovely line from "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde (who is a Saint of Antinous, by the way): "On an occasion of this kind it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind. It becomes a pleasure." This is an aspect which encourages people to say vicious and intentionally hurtful things. People are overly persnickety and bitchy and downright mean. You'll be amazed how true this is.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY JUNE 11-12, 2016

This weekend you can expect fireworks in love and finance when Venus forms a sextile aspect with unpredictable Uranus. Whatever happens, it will be tinged with sadness when we come to the Virgo First Quarter Moon. This is the Lunar Phase we call the MOON OF MELANCHOLY ... but don't worry ... it can be your "lucky" moon ... In English-speaking countries, "Melancholy" is almost a dirty word. Puritan upbringing has conditioned us to grin and bear it, to adopt a stiff-upper-lip attitude ... Other cultures are not so uptight about acknowledging this feeling of sadness. They realize it is a necessary part of life. It is what the French call "larmoyant" — a lovely word which suggests there is great beauty in sadness ... For example, crying at the movies is very beautiful and cleansing for the soul ... it is cathartic and healthy ... Meditations and rituals on this night are best suited for identifying the source of sadness in your life. If you find the source of sadness in your life, then this Lunar Phase provides you with the energy to effect changes which will move you out of melancholy into the next lunar phase.

OUR astrology adviser Hernestus has prompted me that today's moon phase is the Pisces Third Quarter - the Antinous Lotus Moon.

Hernestus describes this moon as being about wish-fulfilment through determined faith.

Now crystals are mostly there to help you to focus on your needs in the moment rather than helping you to achieve anything ahead of time.

However there are some crystals which are attuned to the future so will attune you to it too.

I recommend that you write down your wishes/desires and hold them as you meditate (with or without crystals).

Focus your attention through the paper and crystal/s and back into your heart.

Orange Calcite - These pretty stones (top photo) remove fear and balance the emotion so that you are open and ready for positives to enter your life. 

Apatite - These are the best crystals to use for manifesting your desires. THE LOTUS MOON OF ANTINOUS

THE LOTUS MOON is what we call the PISCES THIRD QUARTER MOON which occurs at this time of year around the time when we celebrate the rise of the STAR OF ANTINOUS.

Tonight's LOTUS MOON means the next week will be a time of joyous anticipation of something big which is just beyond the horizon.

In ANTINOUS MOON MAGIC each phase of the Moon represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the LOTUS MOON is the Spirit of Yearning. It is the Spirit which lives in the hearts of people who sit and wait by the phone for their lover to call, or who look out the window in anticipation of the arrival of their beloved. It is the Spirit of the child who cannot sleep on Christmas Eve. 

It is perhaps the most spiritual of all the Lunar Phase Spirits because it knows that its wait will not be in vain. It is waiting for something it knows must and will come to pass.

It is what the Portuguese call "SAUDADE," a bitter-sweet longing for someone or something just out of reach. Waiting for your ship to come in — and knowing it WILL come in. You Will Require: A candle of the color symbolizing your heart's desire.

Choose a pink candle for love, sex and passion; red/orange for energy; a Nile green candle for health; gold/yellow for confidence, attraction or persuasion; turquoise for serenity, vision dreams, clairvoyance; lapis-lazuli blue for success, luck; a white candle for purification and protection from enemies.

RED STONES FOR AN ANGRY WEEKEND By Our Crystal Meditation Advisor Martin Campbell

OUR astrology advisor Hernestus has reminded me that today's Antinous Denarius Moon (Sagittarius Full Moon) coincides with a very challenging cosmic configuration: the Sun in opposition to Retrograde Mars even as Mercury stands still to end its three-week Retrograde cycle.

All of this encourages rage problems and fears of loss of riches.

With this focus on anger and fear of losing valuables, I would recommend that you meditate using the following crystals:

Red Jasper - This stone gives you the courage to face and deal with the problems that are causing stress or anger. 

Red Jade - This scarlet stone is good for releasing anger and letting off steam.

Rhodonite - This is a wonderful stone which helps to transmute anger and give the user the strength to heal the cause. It is one of my favourites!

Aventurine - These beautiful stones are typically pale blue but can be found in other colours/colors. They have many attributes but, for this full moon, the key aspect is that they are very positive stones for prosperity. They also bring mental clarity to help you achieve your prosperity.

Citrine - These beautiful yellow/gold crystals have been well known for centuries as stones of abundance. They help you achieve the wealth you seek in any aspect of your life. A joyful crystal, Citrine also helps you to share your wealth thus bringing other aspects of wealth to you such as the trust, love and friendship of those you help but also building an abundant respect and love of yourself for doing so.

THE SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON THE DENARIUS MOON OF ANTINOUS

TONIGHT's Sagittarius Full Moon is the Lunar Phase which we call the DENARIUS MOON in Antinous Moon Magic.

This the classic "Money Moon" of ancient lore. This is the best time to fulfill dreams for achieving the riches you have always sought ... and remember that "riches" are not counted in terms of money, but in terms of the wealth of love and warmth you give to others.

The Sagittarius Full Moon is the "lucky" moon of jovial excess and exuberant spending.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Denarius Moon is the Spirit of Wealth and Abundance. It is the embodiment of largesse and of all material and spiritual riches. It is the Spirit of Richness in all its many meanings.

It is symbolized by a Roman coin bearing the profile of Antinous. In ancient times, Antinous coin/medallions were prized by his worshipers as a sort of portable Sacred Token or Pocket Shrine.

In ancient times many followers of the Blessed Youth felt it was necessary to have a tangible representation of Antinous with them at all times for protection and for blessings.

The rich had small, light-weight traveling busts or bronzes made to accompany them on their journeys. Poor people made do with more crudely made representations, such as coins and figurines and medals made of lead, clay and other base materials.

People of modest means who were lucky enough to get their hands on one of his commemorative coins would carry it with them for protection, often even wearing them.

Many were pierced by holes and hung from the neck as talismans: Antinous' image offering protection against evil, sickness and death. Other such medallions were mounted in frames to adorn household altars, and others were buried with the dead to invoke the god's aid on the perilous journey into the unknown.

Meditations and rituals tonight are best suited for delving into matters concerning material wealth, as you might expect. But on a far more sublime level, this is an ideal night for delving into the true treasures in your life ... the things you value most.

On Tuesday Venus leaves dependable Taurus and enters flirty Gemini. If you have been thinking about spreading your wings and diversifying your love life, the coming weeks is the time to do it. Then on Wednesday, the sexometer goes off the scale when flirty Gemini Venus is in exact opposition to Retrograde Sagittarius Mars, setting the tone for a long week of hot sex and romance or ... at the very least ... intense networking in the interpersonal areas of career, artistic endeavor and relationships of all kinds. On Thursday you may feel paralyzed between optimism and pessimism when Jupiter forms a 90-degree square angle aspect to Saturn which dominates the second half of the week. This is the second Jupiter-square-Saturn configuration this year. When the first one occurred a few weeks ago, Retrograde Jupiter brought up lessons from the past. This second encounter is more future-oriented. It is a textbook case of finding fortune in misfortune. You may find that a project you have been counting on to succeed suddenly backfires ... but that this apparent "failure" turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Jupiter-square-Saturn also often suggests that you yourself become the blessing in disguise for other people. While expecting good fortune for yourself, you suddenly find yourself in the position of helping others ... which is a blessing-in-disguise for you yourself.

On Friday Retrograde Mars backs up into Scorpio, where it will remain for the next four weeks of its long Retrograde cycle. Mars is normally strong in Scorpio, but the backwards Retrograde motion weakens its strength. You can expect to feel suspicious unease and distrust but be unable to sense where it is coming from. Keep your eyes open and your rear guard up from now until Mars turns around and goes Direct in June.
