On Thursday we come to the Capricorn Third Quarter Moon which, in Antinous Moon Magic, we call the HADRIAN'S WALL MOON of stubborn intransigence and immovable barriers. Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Hadrian's Wall Lunar Phase is the embodiment of hindrances and blockages. It represents the barriers that stand in your way. It is all barriers and obstacles to progress. Meditations and rituals conducted on this night are best suited for focusing on blockages in your life, situations and issues which prevent you from moving forward. These can be manifested by persons or situations around you. But most often, we find during meditations on this night that we have erected prison walls around ourselves, we are blocking ourselves from the freedom we so earnestly desire. This Lunar Phase is saying it is time to break out!

On Friday April Fool's Day the most outrageous statements turn out to be absolutely true when Mercury aligns in conjunction with impetuous Uranus in Aries. A politician will say something which sounds far too unbelievable to be true. Believe it! This is the kind of day serendipitous miracles occur. A miracle is something that seems impossible but happens anyway.

This is a lovely weekend. On Saturday ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is in active Aquarius and forms a fortuitous aspect with Mars which encourages sports activities and dancing. On Tuesday Venus leaves dreamy and romantic Pisces and charges into hot and horny Aries. Sitting in front of your computer wistfully fantasizing about Mr. Right suddenly gives way to the urge to go out and find him ... and not stop until you have found him. Aries Venus can be overly assertive and me-firsty in relationships. But if you are congenitally shy and retiring, this means you may finally work up the audacity to stand up for yourself ... and about time, too. But move fast because Venus leaves Aries on April 30th to settle down in placid and docile Taurus, where Venus prefers the comforts of home.

You might even feel a bit bullish yourself during the next six weeks. With Mercury in Taurus, we are determined, stubborn, and resolute. Mercury in Taurus can be passive, and is at its strongest when resisting or defending something! In stark contrast to the impulsive Mercury in Aries cycle, we tend to pursue our goals by plodding along patiently. Our goals are longevity and long-term satisfaction.

The Aries New Moon is the moon of abrupt beginnings which may not be followed through, and of things said which are later regretted, of capricious actions — shoot first, ask questions later. If you have been stalling on starting something new ... now is the time to go for it. Others will warn you that you should exercise caution ... but the Fasces Moon says "no pain, no gain" and urges you to press forward.

Narcissus is the Spirit which tunes out all distractions and all other people in order to focus on the Divinity within. This Lunar Phase is the Spirit of Self-Love and Same-Sex Love. It is forever gazing into its own reflection and whispering to itself: You are Divine! The reflection and the viewer are one and the same. The Spirit of Narcissus is the Divinity which holds a mirror up to ourselves. self-confidence pairs with the need for security when the Sun forms a productive trine aspect with Saturn. Go ahead: Take your own destiny in your own hands.

On Sunday Mars stops dead in its tracks, does an about-face, and begins moving backwards as seen from Earth. "Retrograde" periods of any planet are times of unease. But Retrograde Mars is a time of potential peril. Mars will be retrograde from April 17 to June 30 — 11 weeks!When a planet is retrograde, it appears to be moving backward in the sky from the perspective of the Earth. Of course, the planet is actually continuing in its usual orbit, and the retrograde effect is a kind of optical illusion. Since perspective is so important in astrology, however, retrograde planets do correspond to recognizable meanings.
Mars is the planet associated with the Warrior archetype. It is therefore the planet we look to when we want to know about assertiveness, aggression, determination, and action. Mars is also closely associated with sexuality — not the love and romance aspect of sex, but the more instinctual, desire-driven side of it.
Retrograde Mars is usually is considered to be a poor time to begin a new sexual relationship, but there is no reason to abstain altogether for 11 weeks. The underlying meaning of Mars retrograde is that energy is lacking — and that's why new sexual relationships are seen as being doubtful: the desire may not last.
