Overnight Thursday-Friday, Retrograde Venus turns around and goes Direct (forwards as seen from Earth) for the first time in six weeks. MON-TUESDAY, JUNE 29th-30th, 2020
This week, Jupiter aligns in conjunction with Pluto and with the THE STAR OF ANTINOUS in Capricorn. This planetary configuration has not occurred for many centuries and certainly will not occur again during our lifetimes. The giant and the dwarf planets may seem quite different from each other, but both of them represent an aspiration for growth and prosperity. Jupiter-Pluto cycles work on both the material level, where they increase ambition for greater abundance and development, and the spiritual level, where they reflect a deep yearning for Truth. And the Star of Antinous underscores their importance to LGBT people. In short, we can be certain that 2020 will go down in history as a turning point for LGBT spirituality and legal rights. In a positive way, these configurations reflect a remarkable ability to transform difficulty into opportunity, both individually and collectively.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 1st, 2020
This week, your brain is ablaze with often confusing and conflicting ideas when Retrograde Mercury aligns with the Sun. Old astrology texts dating back to Ancient Rome call this a potentially hazardous time, and speak of a "Scorched Mercury" which impairs communications and judgement. But in ANTINOUS MOON MAGIC, we see that very differently. This Sun/Mercury conjunction is indeed intense, but in a positive way. Antinous/Mercury focuses the gay spiritual light of his heavenly father Ra-Herakhte right at you. Open your spiritual heart to the light and joy and permit it to burn away all doubt and all fear and trepidation. Most people live in spiritual darkness. They are like people who live in caves and are afraid of sunlight because it hurts their eyes. But should we shun the light and stay in the cave with them? Antinous/Mercury says it's safe to open your spiritual eyes — and spiritual heart — and become accustomed to the light.

On Thursday, Retrograde Saturn backs out of airy Aquarius and re-enters its home sign of Capricorn, where it had languished from December 19, 2017, to March 21, 2020, before entering Aquarius. Now, on July 1, 2020, Retrograde Saturn re-enters Capricorn, finally leaving the sign of the goat for good on December 17, 2020. Saturn takes about 28-29 years to come full circle, and thus spends on average close to two-and-a-half years in a sign. When Saturn is in Capricorn we all begin a new cycle and chapter altogether, both individually and collectively. Capricorn is a no frills sign and deals with power, business and structure. Saturn here is concerned with security and structure, tradition, organization, big business and defense. If left unchecked, big business can become the new Gods of the Universe as Saturn moves through this sign. Saturn in Capricorn can denote great wealth but also great limitations. Saturn was in Capricorn during the worst part of the Great Depression in the early 1930s. The rich got richer, and the poor got poorer. The last transit of Saturn in Capricorn was from February 15, 1988 until February 5, 1991. Before that it was January of 1959-January of 1962, and December 1929-November 1932. While in Capricorn, Saturn will build things that are meant to inspire respect (or intimidation) as much as anything else. The Berlin wall for example, began construction under a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (August 31, 1961). It was meant to be a political symbol to keep some people in their place. We will experience another Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in 2020, heralding an important new cycle.
FRIDAY, JULY 3rd, 2020
On Friday, you may want to break loose and go off alone on some impromptu adventure when both the Sun and Mercury form a sextile aspect with Uranus. If you are stuck at home with family or people you would rather avoid, this can create intolerable tensions and the desire to walk out and jump in the car and speed away. But if you have the week to yourself, this creates the perfect atmosphere for doing something new and different without anyone holding you back. And because Mercury is Retrograde, you choose a nostalgic destination to relive a cherished memory.

This 4th of July weekend, we come to an ominous Lunar Eclipse visible over most of North and South America during the Capricorn Full Moon, which is the lunar cycle we call the TOWER MOON in memory of the observatory tower which Emperor Hadrian built at his Villa to study the stars. This is the moon for reaching for the stars ... seeking job promotions ... stretching on tiptoes to grasp something previously unattainable.
