ASTRO FORECAST: MAY 11th—21st, 2023

Antinous is a Moon God. He is, of course, many other things and he wears many hats. But one of the ways he was worshiped in Antiquity was as ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD.

His worshipers looked skyward and saw His beautiful face perpetually turned towards the Earth. The Man in the Moon was actually the Blessed Boy in the Moon for the ancient priests and worshipers of Antinous. Swiftest and most youthful of all the Zodiacal deities, Antinous speeds through an entire year's worth of Astrological signs in just 28 days.

ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious gay selves. Where Hadrian the Sun acts, Antinous the Moon REACTS. How do we instinctively react or respond to problems? What do we feel we need for a sense of security? Look to ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD for answers.

ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is both our inner boy child and our inner lover. His ever changing phases, as he sweeps past all the other Planets in all the Signs, make us at turns responsive, receptive, and reflective. Eternally youthful, ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD represents our childlike spontaneous and instinctual reactions.

ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD beams down on us to make us imaginative, creative, intuitive, sentimental, adaptable, introspective, and protective. On the negative side, and depending on where he is in the Zodiac, he can make us moody, restless, and irrational.

Antinous Astrology Forecast

MAY 11th to 21st, 2023

THURSDAY, MAY 11th, 2023

This week, get ready for a big surprise! Once a year the Sun aligns with impetuous Uranus ... and that configuration dominates the whole week. This year the Sun aligns in conjunction with Uranus in stubborn Taurus. Taurus is an Earth Sign, which means we can expect explosively dramatic events involving climate, geology or global political and economic infrastructure. This Sun-conjunction-Uranus configuration means you can expect long-simmering crises on the home front or in global affairs to erupt with appalling ferocity. On the positive side, stubborn problems can blow apart and be resolved almost instantly. On the negative side, however, you can expect dangerous political explosions ... perhaps even literal bombs and explosions.

FRIDAY, MAY 12th, 2023

This week, the Moon squares off against the Sun for the Aquarius Third Quarter Moon which in Antinous Moon Magic we call the FORUM MOON. This is the best Lunar Phase of the year for oracles or spell work involving interaction with groups or a public setting. Gathering place. Club. Work place. Any place where numerous people gather. It is also the best moon for rituals focusing on parks, gardens and the outdoors in general, such as working rituals for protecting a back garden or outdoor venue.

SATURDAY, MAY 13th, 2023

This weekend, justice-minded Libra Venus forms a productive trine aspect with Aquarius Saturn. Venus trine Saturn helps you perceive whom you can trust for the long run and it helps you remember that business can be a pleasure. And because both Venus and Saturn are in sextile aspects to Retrograde Mercury, you can expect good tidings regarding someone or something you have not seen for some time.

SUNDAY, MAY 14th, 2023

Aren't you tired of all the computer glitches, "lost" files, travel delays and snafus of recent weeks? Take heart! Now Mercury does an about-face and starts going forward again as seen from Earth, ending three weeks of Retrograde "backwards" travel. So you can safely message friends and co-workers a prediction that certain "lost" computer files or parcels will show up by the time they go to work tomorrow morning. Mercury going backwards creates this sort of impish mayhem with matters concerning communications, documents and money. Misplaced tickets, keys, "lost" computer files, letters and packages which vanish into postal limbo ... all are typical of Retrograde Mercury. The "lost" things turn up again as if by magic when Mercury goes Direct again. A skilled astrologer, Hadrian no doubt amazed his courtiers by accurately predicting when some "lost" document or wayward courier message would finally re-appear out of no where.

MONDAY, MAY 15th, 2023

This week, powerful energies are at play when Mars is in a 120-degree trine aspect to dreamy Neptune. Imagine yourself barreling down a freeway at high speed ... and suddenly being enveloped in a fog bank which cuts visibility to zero. If you don't reduce speed immediately, you are bound for disaster. Mars is the fast sports car thundering down the highway ... and Neptune is the fog bank ... and you are in the driver's seat. This astrological configuration spells trouble for people who proceed full speed through life without any regard to their surroundings. They will come a cropper this week. However, this Mars/Neptune trine configuration is excellent for people who have latent intuitive, artistic or spiritual talents ... like Antinous-Dionysus. Mars invigorates and enlivens these talents. So the answer is: Proceed with caution, but keep your eyes open for brilliant new opportunities and insights which otherwise would have flashed past you unseen at high speed.

TUESDAY, MAY 16th, 2023

From May 16, 2023, through May 25, 2024, the planet Jupiter enters Taurus for the first time in 12 years for a seminal, super-sized season of new beginnings. Big things will come for culture, cash, and the collective future when the planet of grandeur hits the sign of opulence. Jupiter has been in Aries since May 2022, where its style has been bold, quick, and boundlessly optimistic. As the planet moves into Taurus, it will amplify the Taurean flair for leisurely enjoying simple delights, fecundity, and slow, steady maturation. Full details here about JUPITER IN TAURUS.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 17th, 2023

This is one of the most dramatic weeks of the astrological year ... a time when you must be very careful in traffic ... avoid public places where terrorist attacks could occur ... and when reckless rules could cause global havoc. Bull-headed Taurus Jupiter is in a 90-degree square aspect to Aquarius Pluto. This aspect heralds disaster on the global political and financial markets — a restructuring of the world's political and economic systems. The arrogance of unbridled growth (Jupiter) will be put into question by thorough and deep-seated structural reordering (Pluto) for the benefit of all humanity, not just for a few. This configuration is warning you — no, ordering you — to reassess your assets. Money and property are transitory things. Reflect on what is truly valuable to you.

THURS-FRIDAY, MAY 18th-19th, 2023

Now we come to the Taurus New Moon, which we call the MARCUS AURELIUS MOON highlighting Taurean qualities (determined, practical, devoted, grounded, dependable) and 2nd House themes (material security, values, self-worth). On a spiritual/higher plane, the New Moon in Taurus seeks inner peace through stability and contentment.

SATURDAY, MAY 20th, 2023

This weekend, Mars enters Leo, to stay there until July 10th. In this period, you will feel very invigorated, with loads of energy to do just about anything. The planet Mars thrives in Leo, so it is a good period for getting lots of things done, even quickly solving problems that used to be just too much. Mars passes through Leo every year and a half, so it's not a life-changing thing. But Mars truly enjoys this period of endless energy and heightened capacity. Make the most of it!

SUNDAY, MAY 21st, 2023

This weekend, the Sun is in a positively profound trine with Pluto and the Star of Antinous that enables you to get down and dirty and show what is really inside of you ... deep ... down ... inside. This is a good day to grow beyond yourself ... shed your old shy image the way a snake sheds its skin ... and present your shining inner self to the world.

SNEAK PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK:

Another exciting week lies ahead between May 22nd and 28th, 2023, when we come to the Virgo First Quarter Moon. This is the Lunar Phase we call the MOON OF MELANCHOLY ... but don't worry ... it can be your "lucky" moon ... In English-speaking countries, "Melancholy" is almost a dirty word. Puritan upbringing has conditioned us to grin and bear it, to adopt a stiff-upper-lip attitude ... Other cultures are not so uptight about acknowledging this feeling of sadness. They realize it is a necessary part of life. It is what the French call "larmoyant" — a lovely word which suggests there is great beauty in sadness ... For example, crying at the movies is very beautiful and cleansing for the soul ... it is cathartic and healthy ... Meditations and rituals on this night are best suited for identifying the source of sadness in your life. If you find the source of sadness in your life, then this Lunar Phase provides you with the energy to effect changes which will move you out of melancholy into the next lunar phase ... More details next time ....
