This week, powerful forces are at work when the Sun aligns with Mercury and both align with Neptune before moving into a 90-degree square aspect to Mars. It is as if a theatrical stage spotlight is fitted with a greenish filter which casts a dreamy light onto the stage which bathes everything in watery pastel greens. This can make it difficult for you to make important decisions. But it can also help you to look deeper into your heart to help you make those decisions on a deeply intuitive basis. But only hours later, the Sun and Mercury square off against Mars to unleash explosive energies. Sun/Mercury square Mars creates a very tense energy which looks for expression through some kind of action, sports, sex, creative self-expression. The square causes obstacles in self-assertion which have to be overcome with the courage and fighting spirit which comes naturally. This weekend Mars enters Cancer, where the war god feels slightly uncomfortable and tends to pout. Whereas Gemini Mars was all about asserting yourself through action, Cancer Mars is all about asserting your emotions. Instead of engaging in intellectual exchange of opinions, we find ourselves taking remarks the wrong way and snapping at others like the Cancer crab. Mars remains in Cancer until 20th May 2023, when it will enter lively Leo.
