This week, retrograde Mercury backs into Libra for the second time this year even as Venus flies forward into Libra. Retrograde Mercury in Libra makes it more difficult to make decisions, and any decision you make is likely to be the wrong decision ... until Mercury turns around and starts going forward again on Election Day November 3rd, when your decision will really count! Depending on your own star sign, Libra Mercury and Libra Venus may cause you some difficulty making decisions and getting work done and generally finding your way through the highways and byways of life. Libra Mercury/Venus gets a bad reputation for being lazy, indecisive, two-faced and a downright liar. But it's not true! Well, actually, it IS a bit true ... but also not true ... both true and not true at the same time.And that is exactly how Libra Mercury/Venus sees everything ... they see both sides to every question ... they sees two people (or two nations) arguing and they see that both sides are partly right ... and both sides are also partly wrong.
Libra Mercury/Venus help to give you a balanced view of the world. They enhance your skills at mediating a compromise which is beneficial to both sides ... and beneficial to you. Libra Mercury/Venus love harmony and balance so much that they try to please everybody. So you may find yourself tacitly agreeing with people on both sides of an argument. That infuriates both sides, of course, and both sides accuse you of being two-faced.
In fact, you may not have agreed with either side. You wanted to tell both sides to take a hike. You only nodded in tacit agreement just to shut them up and avert open conflict. The result is that you end up being caught in the middle ... a plight that Sun Sign Librans know all too well.
So the down side of Libra Mercury/Venus is that decision-making is more difficult. You look at a restaurant menu and it ALL looks so good that you can't make up your mind ... again, a plight that Sun Sign Librans know all too well.
But the up side of Libra Mercury/Venus is that you are open to new experiences ... you pick a menu item you have never eaten before ... and it turns out to be delicious. You are driving along your regular route home from work and suddenly turn off down another street you have never explored before ... and you discover places which turn out to be wonderful.
As for being lazy ... that is also partly false ... and yet also partly true. Libra Mercury/Venus are very industrious when it comes to something that is interesting, pleasant or lovely. So you may find yourself beavering away at some fabulous project with your mind and soul concentrated solely on that fab project.
Meanwhile, boring and tedious tasks fall by the wayside. You may conveniently "forget" to do things which are uninteresting to you. Mercury Libra/Venus are the artistic genius who creates the most exquisitely inspiring art ... and yet who lives in absolute squalor and filth. Art is intensely interesting to them ... but housekeeping is intensely boring, so they "forget" to do any house cleaning. Sun Sign Librans are experts at "forgetting" unpleasant or uninteresting things.

Earthquakes. Revolutions. Love (or lust) at first sight. This week sudden and abrupt change can occur with Earth-shattering results when the Sun is in 180-degree opposition to rebellious Uranus. This configuration occurs once a year and always brings unexpected and exciting encounters or events which shake up the world ... including your own personal world. Adapting to any changes requires extra effort, and any excitement may leave your nerves frayed. These unexpected and quite possibly unwanted changes can manifest in yourself, through a partner, or through an external event. Although initially upsetting and you may resist any change, it may offer a better way forward for you if you keep an open mind. You may anticipate something new on the horizon or feel nervous anxiety. Think about doing something out of the ordinary to satisfy your curiosity, otherwise the electric and spontaneous energy may escape in a destructive way such as a minor accident. Odd behavior or a radical about face in someone close to you may cause anxiety too. They may be looking for more personal freedom and any resistance or dominance from you would further encourage any rebelliousness. Arguments or separation may result from impatience or an inability on your part to adapt. It is possible now that someone new may enter your life who brings about much-needed change.

The big news this week is that on Election Day November 3rd, Retrograde Mercury does an about-face and starts going forward again as seen from Earth, ending three weeks of Retrograde "backwards" travel. That bodes well for the election outcome. Mercury going backwards creates this sort of impish mayhem with matters concerning communications, documents and money. Misplaced tickets, keys, "lost" computer files, letters and packages which vanish into postal limbo ... all are typical of Retrograde Mercury. The "lost" things turn up again as if by magic when Mercury goes Direct again. A skilled astrologer, Hadrian no doubt amazed his courtiers by accurately predicting when some "lost" document or wayward courier message would finally re-appear out of no where.

This weekend, we come to the Leo Third Quarter Moon, which is called the BACCHANALIA MOON in Antinous Moon Magic for its gifts of transcendence ...
