TONIGHT's very special Yuletide Full Moon ... the first since 1977 and the last until 2034 ... is the Cancer Full Moon ... which we call the Lunus Moon in Antinous Moon Magic.

Saturnalia, Birth of Mithras, Yule, Hanuka, Christmas, Yalda, Panch Canapati and Hogswatch!! 

It is a time for joy, fun, gift giving, rich food but also a time for reflection on what has been and what is to come.

All year round we are blessed by the glittering gift of our wonderful astrology adviser, Hernestus.

He has reminded me that this moon phase is the Cancer Full Moon which is the one we refer to as the Lunus Moon in Antinous moon magic. 

Hernestus suggests that this moon may find you focused on emotions and visualising them in meditations or trances. 

Of course emotions are at their highest during religious festivals or times of collective merriment. 

Some will be riotous and singing, some will be telling jokes, some will be arguing loudly with family members but some, often tucked out of sight may be sitting quietly and remembering lost ones, happier times or the true spiritual meanings of the day.

The key thing about emotions is to let them out! 

One way of doing so, of course, is to give a gift to say 'I love you', 'thank you' or 'I don't like you so I am giving you a horrible jumper I found in a charity shop/thrift store'! 

Many will give the gift of crystals today either as part of a jewel, a crystal itself, or even in less obvious ways. 

Watches often contain actual or liquid crystal. Power tools often use diamond parts because of their immense strength. Glass objects are made from melted sand - which are grains of crystals and stones ground nearly to dust by natural erosion.

A gift to yourself is finding the time to sit and take a few minutes out from all the craziness and meditating for a while. 

I would suggest using the following crystals to focus particular energies and emotions for you: 

Jade (esp. green) - This stone (jade Yule tree above) channels passion into constructive approaches to situations with the people around you whether family, friends, colleagues or enemies. It is not surprising, therefore, that Chinese people have held Green Jade as sacred for over a millennia. Green, of course, also reminds us of the Holly, Ivy and mistletoe so beloved and sacred to ancient Pagans.

Carnelian - (Carnelian Yule tree above) Once you are moving into, or have found, your place of positivity then I suggest that you the crystal which is my personal favourite – Carnelian. Red or orange Carnelian helps you to become full of life force and vitality. It helps you to focus on positive outcomes, joy and fun approaches to life.

Fire Opal - Many of us mourn the loss of another year or focus on other losses we may have experienced in that, or previous, years. 

I carried a Fire Opal with me for over a year during  a very troubling time in my life a couple of years ago. 

I held it during meditations too. It helped my immensely – I felt my moments of grief released more readily yet the outcomes of each cry or moment of depression were somehow channeled into more positive thinking.

THE ANTINOUS LUNUS MOON THE CANCER FULL MOON

TONIGHT's Cancer Full Moon is the lunar phase we call the LUNUS MOON in Antinous Moon Magic — the Moon of Moons!

The period between Christmas and New Year's is always a time of reflection and digestion and this weekend is particularly sleepy when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD forms lackadaisical aspects Mercury, Mars, Uranus and Pluto — but none of the major planets engage in any meaningful aspects with each other.

MONDAY/TUESDAY DEC. 28/29, 2015

The final week of the year 2015 is dominated by Mercury square Mars. Overnight Monday/Tuesday Capricorn Mercury moves into a 90-degree right angle aspect to Libra Mars. This square aspect dominates both days and, indeed, tinges the whole week to come. Many astrologers say that this aspect is when people sharpen their swords. But in my experience in casting gay horoscopes, we find that a Mercury/Mars square involving goat-headed Capricorn and prevaricating Libra indicates that people will be sharpening their tongues to use as weapons! Remember that lovely line from "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde (who is a Saint of Antinous, by the way): "On an occasion of this kind it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind. It becomes a pleasure." This is an aspect which encourages people to say vicious and intentionally hurtful things. People are overly persnickety and bitchy and downright mean. You'll be amazed how true this is. And if you want to remain above the fray, just remember when something cruel is on the tip of your tongue to bite your tongue. That's because Mercury enters Aquarius later this week and Mars dives into devilish Scorpio on the weekend and you don't want to say something now that you'll regret this coming weekend.

On Wednesday Venus soars into jovial Sagittarius, leaving behind the murky moodiness of Scorpio for another year. Sagittarius Venus is supremely optimistic and eager to give everybody the benefit of the doubt when it comes to trust in matters of love. This is in stark contrast to wary suspicions which abounded when Venus was in Scorpio. From now until January 24th, Sadge Venus encourages you to give love a chance.

NEW YEAR'S EVE 2015-2016

On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day hope and confidence fill the atmosphere when we come to the LIBRA THIRD QUARTER MOON, which we call the CROSSROADS MOON. It is a time for setting a new course, possibly changing course, setting out in a new direction. It is about making a decision. The key is not to worry about which choice to make. The key is to make a choice and go ahead with it.

On Saturday it's time to take advantage of those January Clearance Sales and buy a new smartphone, tablet or other communications device when Mercury enters the tech-friendly and communications-conscious sign of Aquarius. This is the best time of year for communications technology upgrades. But hurry, because Mercury only stays in Aquarius for seven days before it goes "Retrograde" (backwards as seen from Earth) and slips back into Capricorn and remains there until Valentine's Day when it re-enters Aquarius.

On Sunday Mars leaves Libra, where it has been very uncomfortable since November 13th, and dives into the steamy waters of Scorpio, where it feels truly at home. All of the warrior god's natural characteristics, good and bad, are much stronger here. Mars's aggressive energies are more intense, more passionate, more loyal, more stubborn, crueler, more secretive, more manipulative, more jealous and (surprise!) more sensitive here than in any other sign. It will be an intense couple of months until Mars enters Sagittarius March 6, 2016.

FOR tonight's CONSORTIUM MOON, which shines its moonbeams on interpersonal relationships, I would suggest:

1. Diamonds - obviously I hear you cry! "Diamonds Are Forever" as Shirley Bassey sings (above).

But actually they create fearlessness, fortitude and the insight to see where problems lie so you can fix them - perfect for a lasting relationship with someone!

They are the perfect cleansers of your aura. Your aura is that energy which emanates from yourself, reflecting your current condition/mood. Some people can sense them - some can see them in waves of colour around you (I can do this if I really concentrate and blur my vision). If you are feeling negative, angry or stressed your aura will show or feel this. Diamonds can help you clear this. Again, perfect for a lasting relationship!

They are huge suppliers of energy (which one may need on a marriage night!). They also increase your metabolic rate and counteract poisons (which may be needed if your husband finds out you've been unfaithful!).

TONIGHT's Pisces First Quarter Moon in Antinous Moon Magic is the CONSORTIUM MOON of social interaction, reconciliation and marital union.

Because it always occurs in December or January, the Consortium Moon represents the cyclical nature of the year, the ending of one year and the beginning of a new year. 

The end of one cycle automatically marks the beginning of a new cycle.

This Spirit revels in closed circles, rings and ties that bind. It is the Spirit of every collaboration, group, association, alliance, team, fellowship, marriage, club or confederation.

The Fortuna Moon is the luckiest lunar phase of the year, the time when meditations focus on areas in our lives where we are looking for success or for counting our blessings.

My crystal meditation choices for this lunar phase are:

1. Joy/excess - Alexandrite Beryl. It brings joy and expands creativity. 2. Channeling - Angelite. It facilitates contact with the spirits and angels. 3. Fearful surprises - Orange Calcite. It removes fear and balances the emotions.  4. Positive surprises - Emerald. It enhances the enjoyment of the world and all it brings. 5. Good fortune - Sunstone. It helps you to link with benevolent gods and good fortune. 6. Positive manifestation - Citrine. It helps you to accept the positive flow of energies that will take you to where you sub-consciously (or even consciously) know you really need to be (physically, emotionally or spiritually). I had a very powerful visualisation when meditating with a beautiful little piece of Citrine recently.  I was guided to a vast cave where I found a pool of water illuminated by a shaft of light. I saw a marble bust of Antinous laid on its back in the water, so his face looked up at me. I am clairaudient so heard his voice say “remember I am always here”.  I think he meant both in terms of omnipotence but also within that crystal. I now carry it with me everywhere! TONIGHT's Sagittarius New Moon is when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD aligns in conjunction with his heavenly father Ra-Herakhte at the end of the year.

This could lead to a scattering of energy or wasting money on unnecessary luxuries. There may also be a tendency to accumulate possessions such as collections of a special thing, coins, figurines etc. It may be that your beliefs and morals become over the top and cause difficulties with others. Excessive behaviors are most problematic because these are more likely to affect your close relationships. Overconfidence can get in the way of making lasting friendships. The key to dealing with the excessive nature of Jupiter is moderation. You can still maintain a healthy ego but you won’t want to let excess and pride damage your standing in the world. Jupiter is testing your ego. Any arrogance or boastfulness may actually be covering for a wounded ego, or a lack of self-confidence. HEALING ENERGY FROM THESE CRYSTALS By Our Crystal Meditation Adviser Martin Campbell

THERE are two consecutive moon cycles to ponder and seek inspiration from. They are both focused on disease, sickness and healing. The AESCULAPIUS MOON with its focus on healing energy The LAMIA MOON with its focus on sickness and disease.

It is, therefore, sensible to consider the moons alongside each other and find crystals that you can meditate with, hold or surround yourself with during these phases. 

Hopefully they can guard you from ill health, help cure any illness you may have and find spiritual connections which may help you do this alone or in connection with other spiritually connected souls around the world. 

AGATE - There are many different types of Agate in many lovely colours. Collectively they help to diminish problems, cleanse your aura and strengthens blood vessels that carry healing white blood cells around the body.

AMETHYST – These are much loved and very common crystals. Some are made into rings or pendants,these will be less powerful than a more natural ‘raw’ crystal (pictured). They cleanse your vital organs and immune system. They are great for the skin and can lower high blood pressure. 

FLUORITE – These come in many colours or blends of colours. Collectively they reorganise inappropriate energies in the body by detoxifying the glands. 

MOLDAVITE – Now this is a very, very powerful crystal. It is recognised as one of the crystals with highest vibrations available. As a qualified Reiki healer, my partner collects and uses such crystals. It can, however, take quite a while to become attuned to their vast power. If you can become attuned at all – I really can’t because I have a balance problem since my stroke. If I pick up a Moldavite or stand near my partner when he is using one during meditation I get very unbalanced and feel nauseous.  

They were formed when a meteorite struck the earth on the Czech Republic/Moldova border in ancient times.  They make you aware of the cause of disease and help you to see any positives held within it. 

This may sound contradictory but my stroke released me from a stressful job and has allowed me to write my novel THE LOVE GOD and do things like crystal guidance for you all. 

Moldavite is good for healing the diseases of the respiratory tract such as flu. If you can become attuned to them they can help you to realise you are a spiritual being – my partner has advanced his spiritual connections and healing abilities through conscious work and mediation with these incredible stones. 

The most powerful are Bezednice Moldavites found in only one small area of the meteorite impact site. They look like little trees – beautiful but hugely expensive – my partner has two and believes they are the most potent. I can’t go near them!

RAINBOW MOONSTONE – These lovely crystals (shown at top of entry) help you to personally connect to healing that you can project locally and globally. It also eyes arteries and veins. Very powerful for using during moon phases but too powerful during full moons.

THE ANTINOUS AESCULAPIUS MOON THE VIRGO THIRD QUARTER MOON

TONIGHT's Virgo Third Quarter Moon brings down powerful healing energies to ring out the calendar year on a propitious note. 

In Antinous Moon Magic, we call this the AESCULAPIUS MOON in honor of the Classical god of the physician's art, Aesculapius.

Aesculapius, as he was called by the Romans, was also called Asklepios or Asclepius by the Greeks. 

He was the son of APOLLO and the Trikkaian princess KORONIS. 

His mother died in labor and was laid out on the pyre to be consumed, but his father rescued the child, cutting him from her womb. 

From this he received the name Asklepios "to cut open." The boy was raised by the kentauros (centaur) CHIRON who instructed him in the art of medicine. 

Aesculapius grew so skilled in the craft that he was able to restore the dead to life. However, because this was a crime against the natural order, JUPITER/ZEUS destroyed him with a thunderbolt. After his death Aesculapius was placed amongst the stars as OPHIUCHUS ("the Serpent Holder"), sometimes called the 13th sign of the Zodiac. 

Some say his mother was also set in the heavens as Corvus, the crow (korônê in Greek). Aesculapius' APOTHEOSIS into godhood occurred at the same time. He was sometimes identified with Homer's PAION, the physician of the gods, as well as the Egyptian god of science, architecture and medicine IMHOTEP.

Aesculapius is depicted as a handsome man holding a serpent-entwined staff representing his powers to convert poison (venom) into medicine.

It is the source of the symbol which alchemists, pharmacists and physicians have used throughout the centuries to represent their medicinal prowess. 

The cult and cult statues of Aesculapius were widespread throughout the ancient world.

In Antinous Moon Magic, each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Aesculapius Moon is the Spirit of Remedies and Repairs.

This Spirit heals all that is ill, it remedies all that is out of order and it repairs all that is broken. This Spirit sees damage and destruction and sets about putting things right again.

It sees ailment and finds a cure. It sees cracks which could lead to catastrophic failure and it mends them before they can spread. It sees suffering and alleviates all that  it can.

This Spirit is the embodiment of the human desire to leave imperfection behind and to become Divine.

CATAMITUS MOON CRYSTALS FOR CHANGE By Our Crystal Meditation Adviser Martin Campbell

THE Catamitus Moon (Gemini Full Moon) signals where change will be occurring … or needs to occur … in your life during the coming year.

If you feel stuck in a rut, crystal meditations during this lunar phase help you to focus on bringing about change … in your living situation … your job and finances … and in your friendships.

I recommend these using these crystals: 

Chrysocolla: This beautiful green, blue and turquoise stone helps you to accept change with calmness. It also has an astonishing array of other physical and mental health improving qualities. It is one of my favourites and I have one permanently under my bed pillow!

Lapis Lazuli: These fabulous deep blue stones, flecked with gold, were highly prized by ancient European and middle eastern cultures but especially the Egyptians who incorporated them into stunning items such as Tutankhamun's death mask. They help to bond relationships - especially friendships - by helping you to express emotions. 

Citrine: These  yellow/gold crystals form in clusters, in caves, but are usually separated into single arrowhead-like 'points' to sell them. They are wonderful crystals for attracting wealth.  

Chinese Feng Shui practitioners suggest placing a Citrine in the 'wealth corner' of your home (the furthest back left point of your home) to bring wealth into your life. 

Meditation experts would suggest that you create a 'grid' of Citrines around you as you meditate. A grid is a set of crystals arranged in a regular pattern around you (circle, square, octagon etc.). 

Where the crystals have 'points' the points should be arranged so that they align with another point thus creating a matrix or grid pattern. Energy flows best along lines which is why this technique can be so powerful.

Emerald: Highly faceted emeralds can be expensive but 'rough' natural emeralds are much cheaper and more powerful. These beautiful green crystals are known as the crystal of 'successful love'.  

It also helps a group of people reach mutual understanding and cooperation so is also useful for the friendships element above.

THE GEMINI FULL MOON THE CATAMITUS MOON OF ANTINOUS

TONIGHT's Gemini Full Moon is the CATAMITUS MOON in Antinous Moon Magic, the moon signaling where change will occur in your life during the coming year.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Catamitus Moon is the Winds of Change.

This is the Spirit who is carried away by the Divine, just as Ganymede (Catamitus to the Romans) was carried away by Zeus/Jupiter. This Spirit is plucked and uprooted and is carried off to other realms.

The ancients often compared the relationship of Hadrian and Antinous to that of Jupiter and Catamitus/Ganymede, the beautiful youth who so enraptured Jupiter that the king of the Gods swooped down from Olympus in the form of an eagle and carried Ganymede off to be at his side forever, serving as his cup bearer.

FOR tonight's Concordia Moon, the Aquarius First Quarter Moon, the focus is clearly on reconciliation, the bringing of peace - and being thankful for it - perhaps we have never needed it more

After the wicked and evil events of the last week (in France, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq)  most of us will be feeling the sharply focused emotions of hate, revulsion, sorrow and revenge.

Many of us will be living with daily strife at work, pressure from family or facing homophobic verbal or violent abuse.

While it may not be possible to seek peace face-to-face with some of those who oppress or hurt us there is always an opportunity to send love or forgiveness via focused meditation sending love or peace.

You may not wish to give your enemies forgiveness or peace but you may need to look inwards - do you need to forgive yourself?

Do you need to bring peace to yourself? It is difficult to wish for peace and forgiveness worldwide if you aren’t at peace inside.

You may also want to use crystals to help create that vibration of peace, forgiveness and solution seeking. I would suggest using:

THE ANTINOUS CONCORDIA MOON THE AQUARIUS FIRST QUARTER MOON

TONIGHT's Aquarius First Quarter Moon is the Lunar Phase in Antinous Moon Magic which we call the altruistic and magnanimous CONCORDIA MOON.

Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the the Concordia Moon is the embodiment of Reconciliation. It is the great diplomat, the peace-maker, the reconciler, the consensus seeker. It is the embodiment of understanding, mutual rapport, solidarity, team spirit, cooperation, reciprocity and peaceful coexistence.

It is the pleasure of shaking hands after having fought a good fight. It is the warm embrace of kissing and making up after a dispute.

It is the joy of reuniting with old friends after a long hiatus. It is the embodiment of the US festival called Thanksgiving, which normally occurs near the cycle of the Concordia Moon.

Coins minted during the reign of the Divine Hadrian often show his profile on the obverse or front side, and the goddess Concordia on the reverse side. Essentially, Hadrian was saying that diplomacy and peaceable relations were the backbone of the Roman Empire during his reign, rather than sheer military might which had characterized Rome up until then.

In Antinous Moon Magic, the cycle of the Concordia Moon is well suited for meditations and rituals aimed at resolving thorny problems and seeking just and amicable solutions to interpersonal strife.
