DECEMBER 19 to 29, 2013
THURSDAY DECEMBER 19th 2013
On Thursday fortune smiles on you when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD aligns in conjunction with lucky Jupiter and forms a nice trine with productive Saturn. Work will be easy and will fly by fast.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 20th 2013
On Friday the work week comes to a happy-go-lucky end when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD goes opposite Venus and forms a nice sextile with Mars. This is a recipe for a party atmosphere. You may find it hard to get much work done, because of all the gossip and conviviality. But after work, you can really get down and boogie.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 21st 2013
On Saturday we come to the December Solstice. Check out the nearly 2,500 members of the brotherhood of worshipers of Antinous at the ANTINOUS THE GAY GOD FACEBOOK PAGE and you see there are people in South Wales (UK) and New South Wales (Australia). There are people in Sao Paulo and Sydney. There are people in California and Cape Town, and there are some in Portland Oregon and Portland Maine. For some of us the days are getting shorter and Winter is approaching. For others of us the days are getting longer and Summer is on the way. For our brothers in Brazil and South Africa and Australia, the jacarandas are in bloom and the days are hot and balmy. Sydneysiders are bracing for another bush fire season.
For our brothers here in Britain and Europe, the days are short and almost completely sunless and the scent of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine fills the air from vendors on city streets.
For our brothers in the US and Canada, ice storms and the icy fear of economic disaster have put a chill on this Solstice Season.
Wherever we are, regardless of the season, Antinous the Gay God looks into our hearts.
And it is all happening at this magical moment. Twice a year there is a moment — in fact, a few days — when the sun seems to "stand still" in the heavens. From the Latin "sol stasis" we derive our name for these events: solstices.
That's the very odd thing about this blue marble upon which we live. The Solstice occurs at the same moment everywhere. But the hands on the clocks point to 23 different hours. And in some places it signals the start of summer (though the days start getting shorter), while in others the it signals the start of winter (though the days start getting longer).
But it is really the same moment and we are all living and breathing at this same moment, though we live in places where the hands of the clock point in all different directions. Each of us is alone. All of us are together in this aloneness. It is the same phenomenon. But how you see it depends on how you look at it.
The days are getting longer. The days are getting shorter. It all depends on how you look at it.
However you look at it, remember that we are all brothers, lovers and comrades. And we are all turning, turning toward our own true delight.
SUNDAY DECEMBER 22nd 2013
On Sunday love planet Venus turns around and goes backwards (as seen from Earth) for 40 days, until January 31st. Venus Retrograde periods are times when we re-assess what — and who — we value. The conventional rule of thumb is that Retrograde Venus is inauspicious for getting married or starting a new relationship. Major financial undertakings are not advised during this period either. However ... you can go ahead and sign that marriage license or job contract ... if you made the commitment (to job or relationship) prior to the start of the Venus Retrograde cycle. Because Retrograde Venus is about "back tracking," you can expect to hear from old friends and ex-lovers between now and the end of January. You may not have seen them for years, and suddenly they show up on your doorstep ... and the two of you have a wonderful time reviving old memories ... and possibly reconciling old differences. In fact, Retrograde Venus periods are often characterized by old lovers getting back together and re-marrying.
MONDAY DECEMBER 23rd 2013
On Monday the Solstice week gets off to a rocky start when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is in tense aspects to Neptune and Pluto. It will take all your willpower and chillpower not to get wrapped up in holiday stress and anxiety.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 24th 2013
On Tuesday, the night before Christmas, all will indeed be quiet and all through the house not a creature will be stirring, not even a mouse ... when Mercury leaves bumptious Sagittarius and enters stolid and sensible Capricorn, as meanwhile the Sun forms a gentle sextile with dreamy Neptune. Enjoy the lull ... because horrific configurations are on the way.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 25th 2013
On Wednesday, Christmas Day, the Earth will quake (perhaps literally) when Mars and Uranus are in opposition. Mars in Libra bristles at convention and diplomacy. Uranus in Aries wants to create havoc just for the sake of change. On the global level, this configuration causes earthquakes, wars and revolutions. On the personal level, it is a recipe for family feuds. If you are home alone for Christmas, you should count yourself lucky because ...... because also on Christmas Day we come to the Libra Third Quarter Moon. This is the lunar phase we call the CROSSROADS MOON in Antinous Moon Magic. It is symbolized by the "Herme", the ithyphallic stele of Mercury which guarded intersections of Roman roads. Tonight is ideal for carrying out meditations and rituals aimed at making decisions or deciding what course of action to take. Because this lunar phase always occurs in December or January, it is an ideal time for taking stock of the old year and making decisions for the new year.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 26th 2013
On Thursday the aftershocks from the Christmas Day quakes (both literally and around the family Yule tree) continue to send tremors through your life as ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD puts the thumb screws on with tense aspects to Mars, Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter. Many astrologers have warned all year that this will be the most dreadful week of 2013. Normally, we refrain from alarmism, but we would caution you to be exceedingly careful ... choose your words carefully at family fest gatherings, drive carefully on the roads, be careful and vigilant in crowds. A very trusted astrologer friend of ours quite frankly says that people who are home alone for Christmas should count themselves lucky ... and keep a low profile until December 28th, when the configurations are more auspicious.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 27th 2013
On Friday there is no let-up in the tremors and reverberations which began on Christmas Day when ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD squares off against Venus and forms a trine with unfocused Neptune. It will be difficult to concentrate on work and it will be especially difficult to tell if people around you are being truthful or deceitful. On the other hand, these configurations are advantageous for meditation and card readings and other year-end oracle work. Let your unfocused mind drift.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 28th 2013
On Saturday the worst of the week's stress and tension is over. The quakes and aftershocks are over. In fact, if you were unable to take part in Yule celebrations on December 25th, you can rest assured that Saturday will be a day far better suited for festivities than the 25th was. On Saturday ANTINOUS THE MOON GOD is in good configurations to Mercury, the Sun, Pluto and Jupiter, which is a nice Yuletide present for you, albeit belated.
SUNDAY DECEMBER 29th 2013
On Sunday the holiday hangover is over when Mercury aligns with the Sun in sober Capricorn to get you started with the post-Christmas clean-up and get you started organizing your calendar for 2014.
SNEAK PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK:
Another exciting week lies ahead between December 30th, 2013, and January 5th, 2014, when we come to the Capricorn New Moon ... the lunar phase which in Antinous Moon Magic is called the LAMIA MOON of dark magic. Meditation and rituals conducted tonight are best suited for rooting out malaise and sickness and for diminishing evil sendings. Look for areas in your life where you may be detrimental to yourself, may be working against yourself or may be making yourself sick, perhaps literally so.... More details next time ....
